I hope you had fun at my Cat World Domination Day disco party yesterday! There is also a video, which my human put together for TikTok and Instagram, but it wasn’t done in time for the blog post. So I wanted to share it today, along with a couple of funny behind-the-scenes stories.
If you are wondering why I wasn’t attacking the party food… it wasn’t easy keeping me calm! In fact, that is usually one of the hardest parts of the shoots. My human’s solution this time was to take one of the meatballs and wave it around to get my attention. I know that if I stay still for just a moment or two, I will get a treat. So it is a routine I am used to.
At the end of my videos, I often wave bye-bye, and I do in the party video. But I was having a problem with it this time. Instead of waving with my left paw, I kept patting the disco ball with my right! And I kept doing it. My human gets so frustrated when something like that happens — not at me, because of course it is not my fault. She gets frustrated at herself because it’s a flaw in her training and she hasn’t figured out yet how to fix it. She knows that once she corrects what she is doing, I’ll follow right along.
This happened on a whim at the end of the night I posed with the giveaway prizes. (Cat World Domination Day shoots often take two days to complete. Sometimes the cooking videos too, unless my human is super organized about them.) If you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, visit the party blog post and do so there!
