Sunday Catinee: Kitties Meet Hedgehogs

February 10, 2013 By: Sparkle Cat21 Comments

You may have seen this cute little video that has been floating around the internet, of Loki the kitten checking out Harley the hedgehog:

If you can’t see the above video, click here to watch it on YouTube!

What I find funniest about it is that it asks if you want to see more hedgehog videos at the end (since the hedgehog’s owners made the video), but if you are like me, you would rather see more Loki videos!

But of course, I could not leave it at one video. A quick search led me to more hedgehog and kitty clips. In this one Milo, the New Cat on the Block, meets Niko the hedgehog:

If you can’t see the above video, click here to watch it on YouTube!

According to the human who uploaded the clip, Milo started touching the hairbrush the same cautious way he was touching Niko. Which leads me to the next clip of a cat who realized the benefits of having a hedgehog around! As you can see, the hedgehog was not thrilled about being used as a cat brush.

Interesting hedgehog fact, by the way: their recommended diet is high-protein, low-fat cat food!

As usual, an EXCELLENT Sunday matinee, Sparkle darling. I have to say the hedgehog in the final movie doesn’t quite look….alive? MOL! I guess he’s just resisting being a hairbrush!

I’m with you – I’d like to see more of kitten Loki.
It was kind of hard to tell whether the hedgehog minded brushing that cat.
    Thanks- cute collection of videos.

As soon as I heard his name was Harley I knew that hedgehog would be nothing but trouble! The kitten is awfully cute though.

Those hedgehogs look like funny little creatures..but I see from the last one that they do have a purpose to serve us kitties..so I guess I would let the Human Beans get one if they wanted to..as long as it doesn’t eat too much of my food!

Oh my!! I like the brush one—I wonder how they feel? But the kitten in the first one–how cute–was the little hedgehog going for a swim? I dunno how we would do with such a critter-Thanks for sharing!

Was Harley taking a BATH? Too cute, those two. The last video is quite amazing but I didn’t see the hedgehog move at all. Hope it was alive!

The last video was so funny! Wish Mom would get us a hedgehog so we could get head scritches on it too. Last night on Animal Planet on the “Too Cute” show, one of the three animals they spotlighted was the hedgehog.

Hahaha, we did laugh, especially at the british shorthair at the end, using the hedgehog like a hairbrush. We have a hedgehoggy in our garden, but Poppy is a bit scared of him as he snuffles around looking for food.

I wanted to say, thanks for commenting about our dinner. In truth it took only about 5 minutes to prepare, about ten minutes to cook and was yummy. There is also enough for tomorrow nights tea too. I always cook from scratch except for store bought noodles and some sauces. I usually make one pot dinners, and quick and easy tea with simple ingredients (no truffles or saffron for me!). I do that to keep the budget as low as possible and so I know what ingredients I am eating, and try to limit additives and sugar and salt.

    Have a lovely Sunday.
