It’s really nice to see humans who treasure their cats’ funtime more than their curtains! Check out Ava — she has been climbing curtains since she was a kitten and in this video she is four years old. Do you hear the word “No!” Neither do I:

This human is chuckling with glee as his two kittens make a tag-team race for the red dot… right up the red curtains! The kitten on the right is especially gifted at curtain (and curtain rod) climbing:

And I thought I would include this eHow video in which a vet explains how to keep your cat from climbing curtains. Normally I think humans are just full of fun-killing “advice,” but in this case I like how she sternly lectures about interactive play and taking part in your cat’s playtime. ‘Cause if you don’t want us kitties climbing the curtains, then come up with other ways for us to have fun:

whoa! I do NOT CLIMB…no way no how…I never allow all four paws off the ground at one time
Those videos are hysterical. Thanks for sharing. Now we know why their are no curtains in our house. Sure appears as if we are missing a whole lot of fun! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
MOL The human allows me half way up the curtain, but no further!!
That looks like so much fun. Those cats need to join the circus for trapeze act.
Those curtain climbing videos are fab!!
That old red dot is one of the most fun games for cats, humans, and even dogs. I recently got one for my dog Isabella.
These videos were pawtasticly funny! 🙂
I was never much of a climber. The Human says that is one of the best things about it–I’m a low-to-the-ground kinda guy!
Oui Oui was quite the curtain climber when she was a kitten. Then she got big and pulled the curtains down. Several times. Now Oui Oui has to be satisfied with texturizing the curtains as presents for the mom on special occasions, like her birthday and Christmas.
Back Again (your comment “and then Binga and I get into arguments on who gets the prime spot on her fidgety self for the 10 minutes she stays put”): TBT can stay stable fer about 20 minutes at a time, but has ta move his legs. I can put up with being reanged for that twice. Iza, on the other paw, is like a sleeping baby an can be rearranged on TBT many times more than me. Thats why she usually gets his lap longest. ~ Marley
I LOVE those videos! We have floor to practically ceiling curtains but I’ve NEVER tried to climb them. I used to climb a lot more than I do now. I may bite but I’m really a good kitteh.
Sparkle, here is where I went earlier:

Oh, that looks like fun. Wonder who we can go visit that will let us climb their curtains?
mol! now our mom says that is why she doesn’t have curtains on the windows at our house. We actually like the last video – really good advice for humans and reminders to play with us kittehs 🙂
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Wow, those people with the red dot DESERVE to have their curtains shredded!
; )
Those are funny. Any suggestions how to not have bite marks on my mini blinds? LOL. Some good advice for the vet lady.
Sorry I meant good advice from the vet lady.
We think it’s totally UNFAIR that we don’t have any curtains!
We watched the curtain-climbing with great interest, but then TBT announced that the treat jar would magically disappear iffen we tried doing that here. We’re not quite sure of the connection, but we’re not taking anny chances!
Ah, now that looks like fun!
That was a good giggle 🙂

Great videos!
Cat spider was too funny. Thank goodness it wasn’t a real 8 legged monster. We girls (here ) don’t like them
Hugs madi your bfff and Mom
Mom Paula took down her curtains when we moved in.
Dang that looks like fun, but we don’t have curtains, just blinds. Wonder why?
It also says a lot about the quality of these people’s curtains!
The second video with the kittens is hilarious!
Don´t have any long curtains over here 🙁

But I have a cattree that goes all tha way up to the ceiling and I can jump from the sofa up to the top of the vitrine
XOXO
We have dogs, but seeing all the fun on the curtains makes me almost wish I had one so I can video tape some kitty fun!
Unfortunately, I’m too big for the climbin’ of curtains but I understand that when my aunties were babies, they did it all the time. They were so good at it, they could have gone PRO.
Purrs,
Nissy
Well, the mom would not want us climbing curtains, though Wally has been known to climb a screen door.
Gee, we are missing out on lots of fun! We don’t have curtains, just boring old blinds.
Our old cat used to be a prolific climber but thankfully not up the curtains as they were so heavy they used to pull out the curtain rail and fall down all by themselves.
I saw the video of Binga being nasty – sadly that counts as a mild warning in our house as there were no earthquake growls or operatic shrieking. I really wish my two would play nicely but Magic simply wont wear Red at all, even tho’ I’ve caught the pair of them having a sneaky sniff at the other when they are busy getting a treat.
That second video is hysterical. I bet those three kittens that have moved in here would do that. I am going to have to get them a red light. Too funny. We didn’t watch the instruction video. We don’t want to learn how to not climb curtains.
Have a great day.
Boy, the only curtains in the whole house are in her bedroom. They are short and not tempting. Mom said she had several babies like Robin and Hopping John who came here just weaned. They had to be discouraged from climbing drapes. Mom finally got rid of all curtains and drapes and never got more..
Our mommy has hung valences with no long panels. 🙁 She did this on purr-pose!
We don’t have curtains here, just blinds. The woman here must hate us and not want us to have any fun.
