This video from the Wake County SPCA will put a smile on your face, guaranteed! Done in one continuous shot and lip-synced to the Abba tune, “Take a Chance on Me,” it makes you want to go out and adopt a pet right this very minute!

The video was not without its troubles and controversy. Originally shot last year for an SPCA event, it was only uploaded to YouTube for the enjoyment of the 60 volunteers who participated in it. Which is why nobody got the Abba song cleared ahead of time. The video wound up going viral and Universal Music Group had it pulled. Protests ensued. Months passed as the SPCA went back and forth with UMG, and finally they got approval for use as an “educational video.” A few months ago, it went live on YouTube in its original form once again.
If you have 10 minutes to spare and are curious, there is also a mini-documentary of the making of the clip.
What a great video!!
I’m like Oui Oui…whoever helps we animals get a home is 100% purrfect to me and mom. xox
They look like they are having so much fun. What ever works to get more animals good homes, we are all for it!
Glad the Universal Music Group finally dropped the copyright claim as this video really showed the benefits of the local SPCA with a positive happy feeling and really let show the wonderful facilities, volunteers, and potential adoptees.
What a HAPPY video!!!
That was an amazing video! About as purrfect as such a thing can get – and frankly, going for cute instead of guilt is a MUCH better idea.
It was so terrific that the Human gotted all leaky. Go figure.
We LOVE that video! It looks like they all had a blast making it too.
Smiles all around here.

The part that amazes me is that they did the whole thing in one shoot. Can you imagine the practicing? Looks like a nice, clean, bright, happy shelter.
We loved that video!!!

What a gorgeous shelter! I thought the place I volunteer through was spiffy, but it’s got nothing on them. Way to go, folks — that’s how to show off that shelters aren’t dark, dismal places!
Great video!
Now I have to find a way to lock my human inside the house or she’ll go adopt another kitten!
Great video and wonderful place for the furries needing a furever home. Hope they find one!!!
OMC – that was so COOL!!!! What a great video. (and seriously UMG – boo for going after non-profits…)
That is such a good video. What a great bunch of people to do that. Hopefully it will help to get some of those animals adopted. Have a great Sunday.
That is the most fabulous video! What an amazing place!
Oh Sparkle, how funny that we did a post about PSA’s on the same day. I guess we brain suckered that idea from you, huh? Oops!
