I Helped My Human Fail the Tiktok Pineapple Hack

June 7, 2021 By: Summer Samba19 Comments

Summer helps her human with the Tiktok pineapple hack... and there is video to prove just how badly it went.

There is a pineapple hack that blew up on Tiktok (and maybe other video platforms). It shows how to pull apart a pineapple and eat it without needing a knife. My human likes pineapple, and she wanted to give it a try. And of course I had to help. And of course she had to do a video.

The way it works is you are supposed to rip the top off the pineapple, then bang it several times on a hard surface. Then you put it on its side and roll it back and forth with all your might. After that, you should be able to pull apart the pineapple and eat it.

Spoiler alert: it didn’t work out very well. But you can see for yourself in the YouTube Shorts video below.

Incidentally, I am also on Tiktok now. My name there is @summersamba. Even if you’ve seen the videos on YouTube or Instagram, they will have a different soundtrack, since the licensing rights for our music subscription doesn’t cover Tiktok. So they are slightly different.

Many of the so-called hacks are a waste of time in my opinion. Hope you enjoyed the tasty pineapple!

Dad says he is going to stick to a knife as we don’t eat much pineapple anyhoo. Good effort though

Never tried that. Seems like it might be a bit messy…best left for when you are in survival mode and find one to gobble up…if you can!

    PS:
Petcretary does something like that with a lettuce head…she bangs hard on the core part, then it sort of just twists out with a wee bit of encouragement!

Hmmm…Pinapples are prickly…I’d rather use a knife! We LOVED watching you guys try the hack though.

Your momma sure made a good effort on trying to open up that pineapple the hack way. She was smart in resorting back to the most efficient way at the end! Tee hee hee. Wink.

MOL.Summrr, I ACTUALLY found this link from Instagram. Yay me. No too savvy on that site. Some people have nothing better to do. Live and learn. Cats are so much more intelligent

That really does look pretty hard. We agree…a knife works very well.

Good try to both of you, but that was wise to break out the knife. 🙂

At least you look good posing on the blue tile with the
pineapple. It’s good to try these things even if they don’t
always work for us. Satisfies your curiosity anyway.

I hadn’t heard about that hack. However it sounds like more work than just using a knife!

Well, WE are certainly not gonna eat a pineapple. But TBT does sometimes. He has a gadget with goes down through one by twisting and leaves the outside and core separate. But that takes some cleaning. He usually just uses a knife.

But purrsonally, we kinna LIKE the idea of beating a pineapple on the kitchen counter until it surrenders. Serves it right. we think!

I guess you need to be strong to peel a pineapple by hand.
Mum will probably keep using a knife 😉
