As you know, I enjoy dressing up and wearing costumes! But sometimes my human feels bad putting them on me for videos and photo sessions because she worries it will encourage people whose cats don’t share my enthusiasm. So we did this short video to discourage people from dressing up their cats, and offering a suggestion about what to do instead.
Yes, I wore all the costumes you see here for this video. But the lobster wound up on the cutting room floor because it made the video run over a minute.
So here’s the video! My human and I put it together in a day and hurried to get it out before Halloween. I hope some kitties who don’t want to won’t have to wear costumes this year.

Summer you’re just too darn. Cute. I once put Christmas hat on my girls. It took a whole bag of treats and my getting rug burn.mol. got a few pics of them. Rosie his I’m a corner but Princes but only because she loves treats
Great tips for dressing up Summer, and mew are definitely one in a trillion, Melvyn and Fudge don’t mind wearing bandana’s though we’ve never tried a full costume. We’ll work up to that slowly.
Summer, If my human came NEAR me with any of those costumes in her grabby hands, I would so disappear! If she did manage to lay a hand on me, it would either A – get Bitten or B – get shredded with my claws. I Marv do NOT like to be touched unless I initiate it. Kozmo, who is totally laid back, if Mom grabbed him to put on a costume would A – bite Mon, or B shred her had. Jo Jo, who is just a little less touchy than me would A – Bite or B – Shred. There you have it. At our house, clothes are for People and Cinnamon! We hope you guys had a happy weekend!
Excellent video, Summer! You bet cha’ – the cats around here are definitely weirdos. Our Piewhackits is top of the class. Mumsy can’t even get her or Odysseus to wear any, ANY, kind of collar. Piewhackits will injure herself trying to play with it. Odysseus will just fall over and play dead on account of she just knows it’s slowly killing her. Her best hope for life is for Piewhackits to pull it off of her while playing with it.
Sweet Summer, that video was totally adorable and you made a good point. I’m so glad none of us are getting costumed up any more!
Cute video. I didn’t dress everyone up and the ones I did, I was very quick about dressing and getting a photo.
I admit to unsuccessfully trying to dress cats up in the past, but I’ve stopped. Great video!
You really don’t mind dressing up, Summer, we can see that.
As for me, I would run a mile if Mum tried to dress me up – or bite her!
Dalton had a lobster costume he inherited from Minko….Minko just hated that thing, so there were no pics of him in it, LOL! And since Dalton has ’rounded out’ quite a bit in the 4 years he has been here, well, it no longer fits anyfur here!
I love that pretty Halloween collar, Summer!
bein a pinata wood be fun, fun, fun
We are so pleased you say this as so many cats and dogs suffer the indignity and danger and stress for these things. Lovely video short!

Summer, you are amazing about wearing costumes! We definitely go the PS route here. 🙂
I once brought Mickey Mouse ears back from Disney. The boys sort of allowed me to put them on but their faces said it all.
Well, at least we all get to see you dressed
up.
Too bad about the lobster costume. We like that one!
Purrs,
Tama and benny
Summer…no one like you, sweet girl!
Bless your heart, Summer. I swear, if dad tried to put even the simplest thing on me his hands would be shredded!
Dearest Summer,
Why don’t you link the blogposts to the video, placing link below info?
Loved this and indeed a very natural and graceful model!!!
