August 8 is World Cat Day. I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean, since 1) everything I came up with in my Google searching was pretty vague, and 2) I thought every day was World Cat Day anyhow. In any case, it was founded by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002 to, I assume, promote cat wellbeing. Here is how I hope my human and I will be celebrating today.
I will be honest, my human does a lot of nice things for me, but she doesn’t play with me enough. Sometimes she will get distracted and forget to play with me at all. Since it’s World Cat Day, I should think she’ll remember to pull out one of my favorite cat toys, like the Neko Flies Kattipede.
Do a training session
Did you know that training your cat to do simple tricks like High Fives, Paw Bumps, and Sit Up is a fun way to create a better bond with her? Plus there are some valuable tools all cats should know, like Stay and coming when called. I like our training sessions a lot because I get the best treats.
We are going to a cat show near Sacramento this weekend, and my human’s boyfriend will be home, taking care of Binga, Boodie and my human’s dad’s cat, Smokey. So my human needs to stock up on the cat food for them. Since it is World Cat Day, she needs to take me with her, and maybe buy me something.
Putting on a dress
Hey, I enjoy dress-up time! It makes me feel special, especially when it involves a photo session. You celebrate World Cat Day your way, I’ll do it my way.
How are you celebrating World Cat Day?
