In Tuesday’s debate post, you may recall that I briefly mentioned the Feline Goodwill Ambassador Program, which has been in testing stage for many years now. Because it has been such a resounding success, and because I intend to make it a signature program of my tenure as Cat Ruler of the World (should I be elected), I felt that now was the time to reveal the details of this valuable and enriching endeavor.
Because so many humans are clueless about the true qualities and nature of cats, a group of researchers got together in secret to discuss how best to fight these unfair assumptions. We agreed that the most effective way to prove that cats are friendly, fun and great company (not cold and aloof as is wrongly thought) is to illustrate this firsthand. Now, humans who believe these falsehoods about cats are generally not inclined to seek out feline company, so the most logical approach would be instead to have the cats go to the humans. Thus the Feline Goodwill Ambassador Program began.
To populate the program, we researchers looked for cats who worked well with a broad spectrum of humans, had even temperaments, and who were currently homeless. After pinpointing likely candidates and having them sign a non-disclosure agreement, we sent them out to visit households at random and spread their geniality and goodwill far and wide. The results were interesting, and very gratifying.
Sixty-two percent of our Goodwill Ambassadors found permanent homes within five weeks of joining our program, 38 percent of which at the time had been cat-free households. Another 15 percent found homes within five months, and all but two percent of the remaining Goodwill Ambassadors found homes within six months to two years. A few of these cats took it upon themselves to approach the most hard-hearted humans, and while this challenge caused them to be homeless for a longer period of time, it was gratifying work to see them convince these people that cats were, in fact, desirable companions.
Now that I have revealed the details of the Feline Goodwill Ambassador program, I am also nullifying the nondisclosure agreement. Any and all members who participated in this are free to tell their stories! If you are one of our Goodwill Ambassadors who has found a home, or if you know one of our members personally, please tell your story below — I would like all cats to learn from your example!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY for kitties finding good forever homes!
This is a beautiful program, Sparkle. All in our home love it.
The first word that came to mind when we read your answer at the last debate was: exactly!
So I do believe you get this home’s vote =^.^=
Purrs
Sparkle, darling, surely you jest! Moi? Moi would actually have the effect OPPOSITE of what you desire: Any home *I* visited would be sure NEVER to allow another feline within 100 yards of their doorstep.*
In other news, YES, you bring daily delight to the Human’s students and colleagues. Especially around the first of the month when the NEW YOU is revealed 😉
*This is why the Human deserves Extra Credit and time off her sentence in Purgatory.
We’d like to honor those who held out fur the harder-hearted humans. We applaud their persistence!
Wow, that’s a great program! And apparently works well!
Goodwill ambassadors are a great idea, and waht better way to fight ignorance than by actual experience.
I love success stories. Great program.
Everyone knows that a cat free home is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Sort of a disaster waiting to happen…..
What a great program! Thanks for telling us about it, Sparkle! And we would love to hear some success stories!
this iz trooly awesum sparkle N we canna wait ta heer the storeez frum sum of the kittehs who participated in this program 🙂
Trust me, being catless is no fun at all. We feel guilty about filling the empty space at this point though. We’re kinda holding out for Dobs to come home.
I have no idea how a person could live without two cats…None. Life is just so dull without cats – What do cat-less people do for laughs?
Wowwie Zowwie! What a great idea. Too bad Kozmo is not homeless, he would be purrfect. Mes on the otherhand would has wrecked your statistics as me really dislikes peoples and has even attacked strangers!
kisses
Nellie
That is a great program. We’d never heard of it before either. Austin would be great as he prefers humans to animals, particularly d-o-g-s sadly!
We are looking forward to hearing more!

That is wonderful Sparkle and just the way it should be!
I love the idea and the success of it all, Sparkle. What a great thing to do and rewarding to the kitties. That’s who we care about. The humans involved will be glad and servunts to us in no time.
The publicist says that her home has really never been cat free except for the very short time that the male person was delusional enough to think that a D.O.G. would be a good pet.
Silly male person!
What a fabulous program Sparkle! We hadn’t heard of anything like this before but it’s brilliant! Thanks so much for telling us about it!
*****CLAPPING PAWS****** what a catabulous idea!!! Can’t wait to hear who purrticipated and how they are doing!
What a great program! Sparkle we had not heard of it before, until you brought it up at the debate. We are particularly impressed at how many homes had been previously “cat-free.” I think that says a lot for the success and impact of the project.
Thanks for telling us about it.

(so this even temperament thing…is that something I can order online?)
Sparkle – this is such a fantastic program and should be instiuted world wide, whether you win the election or not. There is no doubt that cats can heal the soul and the concept of this program is brilliant!!! We give this 5 paws up of support – the highest ranking we have!
It does indeed sound like a positive venture, Sparkle. Sixty-two purrcent is a great number, and for the rest they just try, try again.
What a great programme Sparkle and it looks like being a great success.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Well I could say that some of them found their way to our home but we were never without a cat of some sort. That sounds like a great program. Please don’t send any more my way though. Have a great day.
Thankyou for coming by to share MoMo’s birthday. Always good to see old friends.
What a sweet thing to do, my friend.
