Patch and Sophia – Two PAWS Kitties in Search of Homes!

August 16, 2012 By: Sparkle Cat21 Comments

Here is my latest installment of awesome kitties from PAWS who need homes.

Patch certainly does not deserve the raw deal he got in life!

Patch

Doesn’t Patch have a sweet face? So I am extra mad at the human who brought him to PAWS — he was shoved so violently into the carrier that all his back claws were torn and he needed medical attention. The guy left Patch and his mother at PAWS because his wife had died and they reminded him of her — can you believe that? I am sure this guy’s wife turned over in her grave to see her kitties treated so shoddily. It took a lot of time and attention from the PAWS volunteers to convince Patch that not all humans were bad, and while he is still shy, he loves to have his head petted and brushed and would adore living in a quiet home without any children or dogs. He is still young, only four years old, so he is ready to give someone nice a lot of love for a very long time! Here is Patch’s profile page on the PAWS website.

Aren't her nose freckles cute?

Sophia

Sophia may be a senior, but you won’t find any cat with more love to give! She adores being held and she snuggles like mad. She adores laps, or will drape her paws over your shoulder and burrow her head next to your neck. If you want a quiet kitty who will give you lots of purrs and affection, then Sophia should be yours. Other than having hyperthyroidism (she willingly takes her medication, especially when wrapped in a treat), she is pretty healthy for her age. Seriously, the PAWS volunteers enjoy having Sophia around, but she so deserves her own human and a real home in which to spend her golden years. For more info on Sophia, click through to her PAWS profile page.

If you live near Norwalk, CT, contact PAWS to check out Patch or Sophia, or some of the other cats in search of homes. You can also put a few bucks into the ChipIn donation widget I have set up for PAWS on my blog’s sidebar — the kitties could really use your help!

The cruelty and ignorance of some people is amazing sometimes. Clearly Patch is better off where he is now. Who knows what else that man might have done to him. We are purring for Patch, Sophia and the rest of the homeless kitties that they kind a loving home soon.

Thank you for your condolences on the loss of my mother. While its hard to believe I will never see or talk to her again, the compassion of friends makes it so much easier to bear. Thank you so much.

    Purrs,
Paula & The Twinkletoe Tails Gang

It makes us sad to hear stories like Patch’s. Our mommy has a dream of being able to help animals left behind due to their human’s death since they don’t understand what has happened and certainly deserve to continue to receive love. Plus they need to get away from bad people like Patch did. We’re purring both these kitties find furever homes soon!

It just tears at our heart to know that Patch was so thoughtlessly tossed aside. First he lost his human “Mom”, and then his other person must’ve been treating him very badly before he gave him up. I read his profile, he was going to be “coyote food”. I bet he was shoved outside and left to fend for himself and what did he do to deserve that? Oh it’s just more than we can bear sometimes. What kind of monster does this? How can you justify that in your mind? What would his wife had thought. I know if I were dying my thoughts would be on making sure my animals were cared for. I just don’t understand. Please dear Universe someone come forth and save Patch and give him the home he deserves.

    *sigh*

Mom grieves when cats who are always innocent as are all other animals, are mistreated. It hurts her heart. May those little souls find heir homes and loving ones.

My human thinks that should be the exact reason why one would keep the kitties… Sigh.

    They’re all so beautiful.

They are both really cute. We sure hope they get the homes they deserve. Especially Sophia, who is older. I always feel so sorry for the older ones. It must be so hard for them to lose their owners. Great pictures. Take care.

Thank Ceiling Cat for PAWS and the Humans who work there. It is so wonderful that kitties like Patch and Sophia have a safe and loving place to be while they wait (I hope not too long) for their furever homes. We <3 PAWS XOXOXO

I just so don’t understand people who will give up a pet because he or she was their spouse’sl Of course, I can’t understand why anyone would give up Herman, Spyro or Oja, either. All three of them were brought to the shelters. Oja was dropped off anonymously, Spyro because he was too active and Herman because his second family developed an allergy to cats. The last one I can understand, but why oh why did they make him and outside only cat and only take him to the shelter when he got sick? It makes me so sad.

How could that man be so cruel to a sweet kitty that his wife clearly loved? I just don’t understand humans *sad face*

I hope they both find the perfect forever homes.
