The Nature’s Variety humans gave me some of their new product to try out. You remember them — I had an awesome giveaway contest with some of their food last year. But the moment the new package arrived, you-know-who had to get involved.
She always steals my food, so I had to send her packing.
Anyhow… it is Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw Boost Bites, Lamb Forumla and the Instinct Raw Daily Boost Supplement with real venison and lamb. Both are made from minimally processed, freeze dried raw ingredients. Very wholesome… and hopefully very yummy!
I don’t get a moment’s peace around here, do I? I would really like a chance to taste test these items without having someone steal my thunder… or my food!
The Raw Boost Bites come in discs. Obviously, I was not going to be able to eat it like that, so my human broke it up for me. Since I am so picky, there was no guarantee I was going to like it. I actually turn down lots of food samples!
But I loved this! These Boost Bites are totally delicious!
Yes, Boodie and Binga got tastes when I was done. Even the dog got to have a disc, since the Boost Bites and supplement are for both cats and dogs. She liked it too. I felt it was wasted on her — that meant one less for me!
My human wasn’t sure what to do with the supplement for my taste test, so she just opened it up and let me check it out. As you can see, I tried eating it out of the container! It was tasty too. My human thinks that maybe she can put it on food that I have “fallen out of love with.” I think she should just give me the powder and forget about the food.
The one thing that worried my human was that neither product had taurine added to it, which is an amino acid that is necessary for us cats. But the Nature’s Variety people said that they contain organ meats, which have taurine as part of their make up. And sure enough, lamb heart and lamb liver are the second and third ingredients for both products (the first being either lamb or venison on the items I got). Since these are meant to be fed in addition to a regular diet, my human thought that was okay, and actually a whole lot healthier than some treats I see other kitties eat!
So do I give these my paws up? You bet!
Those both look like pawesome foods! We get some normal raw meats that somehow escape off TBTs cutting board, but its never enough.
Wow, that actually looks/sounds very impressive, we may have to check it out. Glad you liked it Sparkle! Great review.
Intriguing!
All the more so because you liked it!
Sparkle, what’s the consistency of those disks? Are they dry or wet? The Human bought me some very spendy treats that were freeze-dried and I wouldn’t go near them — she’s intrigued with these since you ate them & you’re picky too. Please, tell all!
those treats look yummy, Sparkle! me and Wriggley eat the Nature’s Variety raw. Our mom was worried at first that the same formulation is for cats and dogs. but I’m doing ok and I do have a rotation with other brands. Enjoy your foods!

Sparkle, you sure rule with an iron paw! Miss Oui is another fussy eater. Her food has some very strict guidelines just for her to consider it. Even if it meets all the necessary requirements, it doesn’t mean she’ll eat it. Or just because she used to like it that she’ll eat it today, or ever again.
Thanks for sharing your opinions, Sparkle. I’ve had really good luck with Nature’s Variety products for my kitties, but I’ve never tried these ones. I may have to look into them.
Sparkle!
Wowwie!
Yous gets the bestest stuff to try! And that you shared, well me thinks that we has to sometimes.

mama is interested in the supplement part since i had a cold. i’m (emma) a picky eater too but buster eats everything – except human food.
How exciting for you. The publicist will have to check these out for the Farm cats.
Mom has repeatedly tried to get all of us to eat better.
Well when she does change foods it upsets my delicate system.
So Mom has decided it is far better to just let me eat what I can tolerate because she can’t stand to see me ill.
*sigh*
We are so glad you are enjoying your new finds.

If you gave Nature’s Variety the thumb’s up, I mean a paws up, we know that the product is tasty!!! Now I want to try it.
The DOG got one? Unbelievable!
Those sound really good Sparkle and we’re glad you liked them! We’ll have to check them out!
I wonder if we would like them. The Woman really wants us to have some raw food. We’ll have to look for that.
OMC! We feel hungry now! xx
I’m glad you mentioned they were treats. They look like hamburgers to me. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Wonder if they’d float mine.
I always love to read cat treat reviews. Our vet has started stocking some kind of organic cat and dog treats and all the animals in my household turn up their noses at them (except Oreo who will eat anything). We will have to try these.
You did good sharing Sparkle!
That does sound pretty yummy even if that disc is funny looking!
Stop by my Commentathon today, you could win $ for yor favorite animal charity!
Wow, Sparkle, we’re going to have to try those ourselves! (And I HATE it when the sibs “horn in” so I feel your pain!)

That looks very yummy. We are picky too but we can’t get freeze dried raw food here.
Oh Yummmm, that do look good.
We get a touch of the green monster when we see the good food options you kitties get over there. Over here there seems to be a contest to make cat food as crappy as possible. We’re glad you enjoyed your taste test, Sparkle 🙂
Good review!
Thanks to share!
We’ll have to find out if they do this in the UK – you all seemed to like it!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Thanks for that review, Sparkle. We’ll hafta check this out. Our mom always wants us to eat healthy stuff and we will as long as it tastes good.
Those do look like great treats. We are going to go check them out. Thanks for this great review. If you will eat it Sparkle, we know it is good. We just might have to try that. Have a great day.
Great review…. Good to know you liked it…
pawhugs, Max
Sharing’s no fun is it? But you’re sweet to let the others have their taste too! Interesting stuff, we’ve never heard of it before.
