How to Kill Cat Toys Like a Pro

October 28, 2014 By: Summer Samba47 Comments

That's what it gets for crossing me!

Take that, you bad cat toy! You can’t get away from me.

I hope my readers were not shocked by seeing that side of me!

Oh, excuse me! I was just having an innocent play session with one of my toys. Oh, who am I kidding? All cat toys need to be killed — that is why they are cat toys! But killing cat toys and doing it well takes skill and practice. I spend hours every day killing cat toys, so even though I am still just a kitten, I think I can show you some pro tips!

I have my eyes on the prize!

Here is the first tip: you must stalk the cat toy quietly and always keep your eye on it. The best way to guarantee that you actually kill the toy is by surprise attack, so you do not want to give it any warning. And you want to keep track of its every move.

It has no idea that I am here!

Pause while you plan out your strategy. It is very hard to plan and move at the same time, and either the planning part or the moving part will suffer.

That toy is totally dead now!

Then, when the time is exactly right, strike! The toy will never know what hit it.

She is not the brightest bulb

As you can see here, Boodie is doing it all wrong. The cat toy can totally see her, and it will probably get away, or at the very least, she won’t get a clean kill. Or, worst of all, maybe the toy will feel sorry for her and just let her kill it. That is kind of humiliating.

Neither Boodie nor the toy knew what was coming

I had to show her the right way to kill that cat toy!

She just needed a few pointers

See? She is doing much better now! I hope you got something out of my tips!

Great tips, Summer, that have been studied by Pierrot. It’s so true that it’s humiliating when the toy feels sorry for you.

I have to agree with Mr. Spitty. He knows what he’s meowing about. If I take too long to pounce, TW takes Mr. Cat Toy away. Sigh.

Summer, darling, you have so much ENTHUSIASM it just plumb wears me out watching and listening to you. Perhaps that is Boodie’s problem as well? We are–not to put too fine a point on it–MIDDLE-AGED. We are, perhaps, just the tiniest bit JADED. We value the restful nappies in the sunpuddles and the fine dinner when the sun goes down (kinda like the Human Senior Early Bird Supper Special at Denny’s). Oh, yes, we still love the toys, but in a kinder, gentler, less violent way. We are into *energy conservation.* One day, you too will understand this, Little One. Meanwhile, be patient with your elders. We *do* know how to use our weapons better and more efficiently than some young whippersnapper, you know.

As in human society, sometimes the elders can learn best from the youths — and kittens are the best cat toy killers going! We’d like to see what Binga can do, too. 😉

You are right ! Anyway the cat toys invented by humans are stupid, it show that they don’t understand what we need ! An aluminium foil ball, a piece of paper, a leaf, a real mouse or bird, a cork or mum’s slippers are perfect toys !
