My human has always liked this portrait of Binga, and she actually thinks it looks fine as a photograph, but she thought it might be fun to make it arty.
She decided to try the watercolor effect she used on a photo of me a few weeks ago. After making three duplicate layers of the picture, the first step was to use the Cutout filter on the first dupe, found under the Artistic group of filters in Photoshop.
Then, after clicking OK, she went to the blend mode, like the instructions said, and changed it to “Luminosity”….
And, um, she was done! She did try the next several steps, but they weren’t anywhere near as good looking as the cutout and blend mode change. Sometimes the simplest two-step technique is the best!
That looks GREAT! Now you just have to print it out and hang it on your wall! 🙂
Beautiful Binga 🙂
purfectly pawsome likeness of Binga’s beauty…even when your human plays around with it…still lovely
We love that effect! and we saw your comment – we’ll be sure to post the before/after photos next Sat for last Sat’s art hop.
Now off to mess around with cutout & blend!

Absolutely LOVE it!
Binga is pretty in pink. Simple works but our two minute one of Domino today is meh.
That could be a poster! Binga looks lovely against pink
I love that picture. Very beautiful x
Binga is a very beautiful cat…Love the eyes!
This is stunning. I really think you should turn this into note cards. I would buy a stack of them in a heartbeat. Binga has such an expressive face, and such beautiful markings. Our Astrid does not have as many colors on her face. Hope I can do some great things like this whenI finally get my Photoshop installed.
Awesome work pals – just awesome. I need to get on M to do something artsy for me next week. It’s fun isn’t it – but sure takes a lot of time.
Binga, you’re beautiful!!!
