Look what showed up on my doorstep!
It’s my 2011 Wall Calendar! My last two calendars have been award winners in the annual Cat Writers Association contest, and I think this one is my best yet!
Each month has a different photo of me and some of my words of feline wisdom — but this time around there is something even cooler!
This year, I am donating one dollar from each calendar sold to Rikki’s Refuge! I have mentioned Rikki’s Refuge before — they are an all-species, no-kill sanctuary in Virginia that helps a lot of special needs creatures. A few weeks ago, I interviewed one of their adoptable special needs kitties, Pepper, for the BlogPaws Be the Change Challenge. I chose Rikki’s Refuge because they are a wonderful place that helps lots of animals, but also because on October 1, they were robbed. The CEO’s identity, refuge financial information and mail were stolen. Money that went directly to care for the animals was taken. A lot of very nice humans stepped up and helped them out, but as you might imagine, it was an awful mess and they are still recovering from this trauma. So I want to help them out even more. In fact, I am also putting a donation widget on my blog for the whole month of November (scroll up and look to your right) so you can give them few dollars any time you want — your money will go directly to them!
So buy my calendar or donate through the widget — either way, you will be helping Rikki’s Refuge!
