You’ve seen my zombie toy many times before! You may wonder what exactly constitutes a zombie toy. I mean, we kitties kill lots of our toys, and they keep coming back to life. But only certain ones are zombie toys.
This one qualifies as a zombie toy because… well, um, look at it!
Even though it is already dead, it just asks to be killed! And I keep on doing it, and it never stays dead.
But… did you know that there is a history of zombie toys in this family? Sparkle had one!
This was Sparkle’s zombie toy. This one became a zombie toy because she tore it limb from limb — and it still kept coming back!
I’m not sure what it looked like when it was a regular toy. Maybe there are photos somewhere. But it looks pretty zombie like here.
Like my own zombie toy, Sparkle tried killing hers over and over again, but it would never die! For all I know, it maybe still be lurking somewhere in this house. Wow, I didn’t think of that before!
So… do any of you live with a zombie toy?

You are so cute Summer when you are in huntress mode! Sparkle was gorgeous too!
THose sure are zombies! Ours are skinned rattley mousies. Iza rips them apart. TBT saves the outsides. We arent sure why. Maybe he makes new ones of them.
But we have a few toys that have been dedded and used fer generations. “Softie mouse” is nothing but a empty cloth. Ayla loves it, as did Skeeter before her and Mean Old Tinkerbell for him. It just stays around. And there is the rattley ball than TBT says came in a box of catnip when HE was young. We love that.
There are couple others that aren’t around right now, but are decades old. They are hiding. But we will find them somewhere and TBT will be amazed to see them again!
I kill most of my toys. My fave is the severed head I carry around with me!
Well, Summer Sweets, those certainly are zom toys. I have a few wand toys that once had full feathers, but I pounced and ate some of them. I guess you could say they’re zoms, ’cause they look a lil’ rough, but they reanimate themselves every once in awhile. Tee hee hee. Luvs.
OMC! TBT says he remembers skull swizzle sticks from his parents parties when he was a kitten!
BTW, when we open your site on Feedly, it is usually about 2 weeks old. Sometimes clicking “diary” gets us to the newest posts, but sometimes not. It seems randomly successful.
We suspect it may be a problem at our end because when we have avoided updating Firefox (it messes up some of our older programs). But just in case, have any others mentioned this?
I don’t know about zombie toys, but every time I move a sofa or dresser I find cat mice under it. I haven’t bought those toys in years so I don’t know where they come from???
We donโ t think we have any zombie toys. Your zombie is scary, Summer, and so is that third photo of you and it. That last photo makes up for it, as you are durable there. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
We have many zombie toys here as well.
I really love photo # 3, you are fierce and adorable ๐ And it’s great to see Sparkle!
Loved the flashback pics of Sparkle! TW always called zombie toys “teddy bears.” Faith, Autumn and Chizzy had “teddy bears” that they loved killing so much. They were sorta like a favorite teddy bear that each could kill for comfort. TW still has those old toys too as memorabilia. I guess you could say my Skineezz shmousy toy would be a close one.
That is a very interesting post, Summer. #1 is scratching her head about whether we have any zombie toys…
Purrs,
Tama and Genji
I need to get some zombie toys!
Summer Samba, Zombie Slayer! XXXX
Hi Summer!
Yes, my cat Otis has a lime green poodle that looks like it has died several times. He keeps shoving it under the dresser and then he rolls over on his back and expects us to retrieve it. My husband tied a string of baling twine on it so now Otis drags the poodle on the string beside him! Have fun with your zombie toy!
You are so cute! โค๏ธ
Wow you can look ferocious Summer, that Zombie better watch out.
Ours keep getting rubbed with catnip when our interest in some of them seems to be waning. They do come alive again!
Purrz!

We had one once. Our old bro William loved that toy to real bits. He even tore a hole in it so all the nip was gone! It was here for eons and then Mom told us it went to live on a farm in the country.
OH yes. Our Robin’s toys that she killed a zillion times…tiny mice showed up AGAIN! And again for Admiral and Mom won’t ket them out of her sight now for me, She wants to save them for pity sakes!
Nice to see Sparkle. She was quite the zombie hunter.
I don’t think Mudpie has any. She’s not terribly rough with her toys. I think you’d better watch out for Sparkle’s toy lurking somewhere!
Awww, so cool to see beautiful Angel Sparkle again!…Have fun, gorgeous Summer!…XO..J, Halle, Sukki
I agree. What a gorgeous girl and we loved her around my house.
We have a toy or two here that are about to become zombie toys…Charlie keeps trying to drown them in the water dish!
Those are really cool toys and it was nice to see Angel Sparkle too.
Yes, Mr. Chivers does have a “zombie” toy too. He is 14 yrs young and this what used to be a mini red pillow with a mouse on it has been around about the same time. It hides during the day and suddenly reappears at 2am in Mr. Chiver’s mouth as he sings the song our of people. We think this zombie is actually controlling Mr. Chivers! MOL. BTW, the pillow appears a faded red now and most of the mousie is gone. Zombies forever! Purrs
I LURV the image of you with the feathers in your mouth; your eyes are glistening green and your teefs are showing!
Zombie toys are so much fun to kill again and again.
Loads of zombie mouse toys here! Nothing beats your favorite toy in the zombie category Summer.
Keep up the good fight Summer, you’ll defeat that zombie toy yet.
Sparkle was very determined to kill that zombie toy!
Eric had Scruffy Rat and it was the only toy he ever played with. He pulled stuffing out and it went thread bare but it kept coming back. At the end it was buried with him.
Those are pretty neat zombie toys ๐
We do have some toys that might be called zombie toys ๐
Purrs,Georgia and Julie
Yes, I do live with a zombie toy. It started its resurrection cycle as a plush die with dots on each of its faces, so it kind of looked like something one would hang on a rearview mirror. Bright aqua. On a string about two feet long. I think it came to live here during the reign of Edna St. Vincent Millay. Since Edna, I have been employed by Stanley and Blanche, Romeo and Malcolm, and now Agatha Christie. The dots are all gone; the string disappeared several years ago; and it no longer is a cube. Now it’s kind of a mushy sorta aqua/grey squishy thing. It has disappeared several times, and all of a sudden, there it is! I don’t know where it goes–maybe to Tahiti??
Not sure if it’s a Zombie toy but there s a blue mousey that Rosie has killed hundreds of tines. NOTHING gets to her like this stupid mouse. I have to hide it to protect it from utter destruction. PS NO other mousey will do
Your zombie toy is too cool!
Summer, you just have your own style of fighting. Youโre vicious!
