Here’s the next event for my birthday month! It involves World’s Best Cat Litter and their new Scented Multiple Cat Clumping Formula litter! But before I get into the details, I wanted to let you know that they gave me a bag to try out.
First my human opened up the bag so I could give it a whiff. It smelled just a little different from the regular, unscented World’s Best litter that I already use. Not fake flowery, but just a hint of real lavender from the all-natural oil that is part of the formula. They are big on having earth-friendly, all-natural ingredients in their litter.
It was litter-changing day when the bag was opened, so my human gave me a box full of the new stuff. Usually, you are supposed to change litter gradually to get your cat used to the new kind, but I did not want any distractions from old smells!
I checked how it felt under my paws… not too bad!
It works!
Now that the paparazzi has gotten out of my fur, I can tell you about the giveaway. World’s Best Cat Litter will give two 17-lb. bags of their new Scented Multiple Cat Clumping Formula to a cat rescue of the winner’s choice! The rules are very simple:
- It must be a U.S.-based rescue or shelter
- It must be a 501(c)3 group
- To enter, just tell me which rescue you would like to have the litter in the comments below
- The contest closes Sunday night, June 12 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time, and the winner will be chosen via random.org
- The winner will be announced on Monday, June 13
- Even if you are not based in the U.S., you can participate — just choose a rescue or shelter located here in the States. And you will want to participate because the winner also gets a prize from me, and I can ship that anywhere you want! Consider it a thank you for helping out cats less fortunate than yourself.
So there you have it — now you tell me the rescue or shelter that should get the litter!
501C no kill animal all breed rescue. We have some 50 cats at all times, we have two pet smarts that keep our cats in their stores. Adoptions are twice a month.
Fort Worth, Tx
Definitely Alley Cats in Louisville, KY. http://www.alleycatadvocates.org/
They are great! They are a trap-neuter-return volunteer organization that traps feral cats, neuters/spays them, and then returns them to their environment. I have used them in the past and they are a wonderful group of people committed to saving cats. We have so many feral cats in our neighborhoods and this is a very humane way of keeping that population down. They exist solely on donations, and so this would be a wonderful way to help them.

Animal Advocates, Pittsburgh, PA, an all volunteer organization
I like Save our Strays in Maine, I’ve actually been to a couple of their fundraisers and love the work they do. Link is here: http://www.saveourstraysinmaine.org/dnn/default.aspx
We would like to nominate a simply PAWsome rescue group located right here in Our town of Highland Park, NJ, called – rightly so! – “Cattitude, Inc.” They have saved and fostered many a critter who would have crossed over The Bridge Waaay Before time.
Here is their linkie:

Since last year when her Blood VE-T- tricked QM into being trapped in the hooman hostible without finding peeps to care for Us, she now depends on The Good Peeps in this organization to be aboe to look after us – in Our Own Abode! – until QM can Command her Release.
All Folks who Do God’s Work in Our behalf are never forgotten, and that counts for Each and Every Shelter, Rescue and Purrson who has ever given refuge to one of Our kin. We feel Our nominee is already a winner – in so many hearts! To have Cattitude in fun sport for a prize with like-minded hoomans (mostly, they can’t see the wings on their shoulders, have You ever considered that odd??) is a Great Honour and Priveledge.
Thank You!
Columbia Second Chance of Columbia, Missouri is my nomination.
My favorite rescue group is Columbia Second Chance in Columbia, MO.
We’ve used WBCL for years, but are in a hiatus to test if Taffy has a corn allergy. We nominate The Noah Project, Muskegon, Michigan.to give a small shelter a chance. (http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/noahproject.html)

I think it should go to the Cat House on the Kings. They are a very worthy sanctuary.
I love World’s Best Litter – you stopped my home from being a dust factory. I choose Pets Alvie in NY petsalive.com as my shelter
Daniela
The Cat House on Kings, though anyplace is fine!
But Sparkle? You allowed litterbox photography? I hope you punished her.
What a great contest! I would love to win the litter for Red Door Animal Shelter in Chicago.

We can’t believe the pawpawrazzi caught you in the act Sparkle! Sheesh! Our mommy can’t remember the name of the organization but it’s the one where they take care of special needs kitties like the one who couldn’t move his back legs. Was that Rikki’s something or other? Dang, sorry she’s so forgetful!
You mean Rikki’s Refuge! http://rikkisrefuge.org/
One of my email rss feed subscribers entered via her phone, and I am adding her here:
“Hi Sparkle!
We’ve adopted from the nice cat peeps @ Suffolk Humane Society in Suffolk, VA.
Have a great day!
Kathy Steelman & the cats of Purring Pines”
We have been using WBCL for years! It is great.
Hi Sparkle! What a great contest! Well, we know Chrystal isn’t a 501c so we are going to go with Cory and Ellie’s shelter United Paws of Tillamook too! There are so many deserving shelters it is hard to pick just one!
I am entering the Humane Society of Forsyth County, GA.

I think it should go to the rescue you are sponsoring this month – the Cat House on the Kings.
Great Birthday Giveaway. Vanderburgh Co Humane Society in Evansville, IN could really use this kind of support!
Good Luck to Everyone.
LucyFur and Oliver
Yet another pawsome contest, Sparkle! WBCL is very generous to sponsor this contest.
I’d like to nominate the Humane Society of Burnett County again. Last time I read their column, they said that they could not take any more cats, that’s how full they are! And all those cats have to have some cat litter….
How very nice of you and “World’s Best Cat Litter” to do htis. What shelter wouldn’t be happy to get some free litter. I would choose Happily Ever After Sanctuary in Marion, Wisconsin. They are an outstand no-kill shelter in Wisconsin located in a small town.
What a wonderful contest! Our Mom doesn’t try to change our litter though; she’s afraid of causing confusion. We have heard many good things about W B C L. We’re a Tidy Cat household.
Ooooh I love lavender 🙂 We don’t know many US animal shelters and everyone is so worthy how helps stray, sick and abandoned cats! I remember you highlighted Last Hope Cat Kingdom back in the winter, who had had a fire…we would choose them.
I nominate JerseyCats! http://www.jerseycats.org
This is such a good idea. We would like to donate the litter to Alley cats http://alleycat.org.
Thanks Sparkle for doing this. Take care.
Um, I do not know many rescues in the USA. So I choose Cory’s rescue: United Paws of Tillamook!
I’d like to see the litter donated to my friends at PurrEver Ranch Sanctuary in Somerville, Tennessee! http://www.gotcats.org/
Cool giveaway! We’re going to vote for our friend Cory’s rescue: The United Paws of Tillamook
