Here I am again, back at the doors to the outside patio, just like I was yesterday. But today is different because my human has gone outside to check out the wreckage. What wreckage, you ask? Well, if you do not live in California or the Southwest U.S., you may not have heard about the massive windstorm we had! It was scary! I was scared because it was loud and flying things kept banging on the roof and the power lines were arcing. My human was scared there was going to be an electrical surge and it would kill her MacBook Pro… so she unplugged it and used it wirelessly. Then our electricity went out completely near midnight and did not come back on until the middle of the afternoon the next day.
Actually it wasn’t too bad here, just a lot of branches all over the place and up and down the streets of our neighborhood. Other nearby neighborhoods weren’t so lucky — big trees fell and smashed parked cars and buildings and some places are still without electricity. My human doesn’t remember there being a windstorm this big in years.
But ick! The spa out back turned into a swamp. My human’s boyfriend cleared some of it out later on, but there is more work to do.
It’s all just another reason I am glad I am an indoor-only kitty!
Oh yeah, and my nip plant(s) survived all the wind and did not blow away!
Sparkle! The wind has been crazy here the past week! I am glad you did not get blown away . . . We saw gigantic trees blown over on the ground. 🙁
We were thinking about you. High winds are scary and we lost so many trees when Irene came close. Glad all is well and the ‘nip survived!
It was bad here too but nothing like you all got there! Glad you’re all safe!
We were thinking about you too, Sparkle. It’s been rather windy and gusty for us also but not nearly so strong as you had it. We’re glad you are all safe!

We had a windstorm almost as bad as that one a few weeks ago here in the mid-west. Yours sounds worse though. I’m glad the catnip survived. That’s always important for you guys.
We heard about the wind in SoCal and wondered about you. We’re glad you are okay and that your nip plant survived! We also hope the dog is okay and didn’t get too scairt either.
Yay for your nip plants. The publicist saw the big wind storm on the news. She was afraid that California was going to blow to Utah!
We get big winds here sometimes because of the tight valley we live in. I am afraid that I will be like the flying cow in that tornado movie!
We are here in Northern CA and we had two days of windy weather. Thank goodness it’s down to a roar today. I don’t have any leaves in my yard and have a six ft fence around my backyard but the leaves and many of them found place there. Sometimes it looked like the leaves were snow falling!
Take care, Carol
We are glad that all of you and your nip plant are safe after that storm.
We heard all about the wind storm on the news. WE are so glad you are all OK!
Wow that had to be scary. But the most important thing is that nip plant is alright.

We had WIND, too! But not as bad as you, Sparkle. We’re happy your nip plant made it, after all, that’s the most important thing.
Oh dear – I’ll bet that was scary. We don’t like high winds when it happens here – we’re always afraid a big tree will blow down on the house.
We are indoor only cats too. It lengthens our lives for sure.
We live in Southern CA. we kept waiting for the wind but it never came.
We’re glad everyone is okay.
Happy weekend!
Me saw it on TV! We did has some wind, but nothing like yous guys had. We is very happy that nothing awful happened to yous!
Kisses
Nellie
We’re glad everyone is safe & the nip survived!
We are glad you and your family are safe and sound Sparkle, that must have been scary indeed!!!
We heard about all your wind. Citrus College in Glendora was closed and we know people who work there. Quite the storm you all had–in fact we even heard people complaining in NORTHERN Cali!
Nip is tough stuff. This summer we had a wind storm, too. The top half of a 35 ft. Blue Spruce broke off and landed on our nip patch. It got a little broken up but survived. Mom
brought the broken branches in for us to celebrate (the nip’s survival, not the tree’s demise).

Ours was bad, but nothing like what happened in California! I’m glad you’re all OK. We saw some of the damage on the news last night and just couldn’t believe it. How scary!
Our skylights rattled all day and all night, and the coolers up there on the roof added to the racket. Luckily nothing broke free and went flying. Mom didn’t see any tree damage, but all the leaves are gone–even on the ground. It’s very clean out there right now.
We’re all thankful that we live here now–at our old house, every time the wind started my mom would worry about those gigantic old trees. (We hope the people who bought that house are safe.)
Glad everything is safe – especially the nip plants.
We heard about those winds on the news last night and worried about all our west coast friends…..glad you are all ok (and the nip plant made it!!).
Now Sparkle – you need to get your priorities right – nip plants safe No. 1 – other things go further down the list!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Boy, that was some powerful wind storm. I would of been scared too.
So glad to hear everybody is ok, even your nip plant.
WOW!!! Thank heavens you are OK!!!!!!
We do not like big winds either.
Mom does
not like wind because we have BIG trees close by.
Yup, all good reasons to be indoor kitties 😉
Thank heaven your catnip plant survived!!!!!! heehee

We heard about all that wind, Sparkle! We’re happy you are okay…and even happier that your nip plant survived!
Here Here for the nip plant. Glad to hear it survived, but am sorry you had to go through being scared. What a bad storm. Stay inside… That’s the only way to live.
pawhugs, Max
We saw about your windstorm on our news! Sounds incredible. Freky Mother Nature this year it seems. We hope the cleanup isn’t too bad for you. Mom knows re worrying about electrical surges an computers – she does the same thing here, unpluggin computer and tvs and stuff when there are storms. Isn’t it horrible to be without internet for more than an hour!!!
We’re glad you’re all safe and have your power back, and that your nip plant survived, Sparkle. And your wind storm even made the weather news here in our part of Ontario.
Having lived in Florida for 31 years, we’ve been through some nasty windstorms. We call them hurricanes. 🙂
Glad your nip plant survived! Phew!
