This year, the BlogPaws conference was held in Lake Las Vegas, which is a totally man-made oasis out in the middle of nowhere. There was a fake beach right outside the hotel.
This is as close as my human got to it because she did not go outside of the hotel once… except to visit the Katnip Lounge cats. They live very close by, and I think they are a much more interesting destination than Fake Lake Las Vegas.
Ignore Salem’s annoyed facial expression — she was actually happy to greet everyone who stopped by the catio. And there were a lot of humans visiting! The Katnip Lounge humans had cat bloggers’ humans come by every day of the conference!
My human did not hunt down all the kitties for photos since she has been there before, but she did get a few of those who hung around. Here is Maui and his long whiskers.
The Baby was around a lot.
Sylvester was very relaxed!
Another one of The Baby.
My human got arty with Grayce.
That is, until she got tired of my human pestering her.
The BlogPaws sessions started the day after my human visited the Katnip Lounge catio. They worked extra hard this year to feature more cat stuff. They even had a session on “How to Speak Cat.” The speaker was Steve Dale, so it was an excellent introduction for humans who are having problems understanding Cat.
And there was a Cat Style Lounge, put together by Hauspanther’s Kate Benjamin, which was nothing short of awesome!
There was a huge part of the exhibition hall dedicated only to cats and cat style!
There were all sorts of cool toys!
Fancy fountains!
Cool loungers!
Feline Yogi had some of their mats and toys on display.
And there was food and cat care items too!
Best of all, there was a drawing at the end of the conference and lots of cat bloggers’ humans won something that was on display! Including my human — in fact she won one of the items you see above. Betcha can’t guess which one!
And of course there were celebkitties! My human got to meet Waffles, but after all my warnings, I think she was kind of scared to be too forward with him. So she only got a couple of photos and just touched him lightly. No grabby hands.
Coco the Couture Cat was also there, looking classy and stylish as always!
But the best part of the conference was that Ginger Jasper’s humans came by one evening! They were celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary in Las Vegas and stopped by the hotel to meet a bunch of the cat bloggers’ humans! There were a number of flat and semi-flat cats in attendance that evening. Oh, and one decidedly not-flat cat posed with them.
Yep, that is Coco up there, keeping it real!
What about the BlogPaws swag? Was it an improvement over last year’s paltry haul? I will tell you right now that the answer is yes, but you will have to wait until tomorrow to see what is in the bag!
Still can’t believe we missed meeting your mom Sparkle! Hopefully next time!
Looks like a good time was had by all. Wotta bash! *Wish we coulda been there* <3
The highlight of our trip was meeting you all. We loved it. Hope to meet again one day. Xx

Ms. Stella O’Houligan
What a purrfectly wonderful post about the BlogPaws Conference! And you snapped an oh-so-cool foot of Coco and the Flats! When I get around to doing another BlogPaws post (tonight) I want to use the foot…hope that’s ok!
Great write up and photos by your human, Sparkle! It was very, very nice to meet her and of course the two times I did..it was in the Cat Style Lounge! Our cats and the one d-o-g are really enjoying the swag bags. And LOL…I acted like a complete idiot when I saw Waffles…especially when I got to pet him…you would have been so embarrassed for me and all humans acting the way I did (-:
Fantastic post and pics!
Oh my dog it looks like everybody has SO much fun at blog paws! Wish we could have been there too. 🙁
Thanks for linking up with us!
ღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
I bet your human had a lot of FUN at BlogPaws and over at Katnip Lounge too !
XOXO
Janiss, your pictures are so great. I took so few compared to you. I must do a much better job next year. I didn’t even take one of Waffles when I met him as I thought I would get another opportunity, which, of course, I didn’t. I’ll know better next year. Great post. Thanks Janet and Kitties Blue
Whee what a grand time! This makes Dad really want to get to one next or the year after
We’re so bummed we could not send our humans this year, Sparkle. They missed hanging out with your human! It looks like a lot of the suggestions made last year were addressed, which is awesome. 🙂
We’re with you. TBT says iffen he was ta travel, he would rather see the Katnip Lounge Catio than all Las Vegas. But then, there were ALL those great furrends and Moms and Dads at Las Vegas, so mebbe both was best.
How much fun!
Our mom thinks meeting the Katnip Lounge cats would be the best! She;s in love with Sylvester!
I agree with your mom, Sparkle. The Cat Lounge this year was pawsome! And there WAS more cat swag as well. Our mom had a great time, and enjoyed sitting with your mom at lunch.
OW! Blog Paws did the cats proud this year didn’t they! That looks a really cool haul Sparkle, it’s so amazing when people take on board comments and responses – they are listening!
