I thought the Cat Writers conference today was going to be a lot more exciting than it actually was. My human brought me down early in the afternoon and plunked me down on a table. That was pretty cool — All these people were looking at me! Then, it slowly dawned on me that maybe they were actually looking at the guy behind me (I think his name was Dr. Marty Becker). That was disappointing! After that, we went back to the hotel room and napped for an hour. Then my human went downstairs without me to set up my cat show enclosure. I didn’t get to go with her to supervise — she said she wanted to get it done quickly. Like I slow her down! I just want her to do it right. I guess I won’t find out how it went until tomorrow.
Then in the evening, she took off without me again — to a nearby cat cafe called El Gato Coffee House. So basically she flew me halfway across the country to go visit other cats.
A bunch of the conference attendees went, and when they went into the cat rooms, they were greeted with this page of kitties. My human had to take a photo so she could ID them later.
Emma here was disturbed from a quiet nap for a photo op. My human swears she was being quiet. But we kitties can hear an iPhone from 20 feet away. That’s a fact that I made up, but is probably true.
At first my human had a hard time believing that all the cats on the page she photographed were actually in the cat cafe. But then she started to realize that a lot of them were hanging out places that weren’t immediately obvious. Like this cool hanging cat walk.
Don’t ask which cat this was. There were four black cats listed, and my human couldn’t get close enough to figure out who this guy was.
There were three short-haired tabbies listed, but my human is pretty sure this one was Walter.
Addison, the second calico in residence, was napping in one of the cubby holes under El Gato’s seats in the main room.
Franky was out and about, but he wasn’t really in the mood to be bothered.
You are probably wondering if any of the kitties wanted attention from my human at all. Well, you will meet a couple of them tomorrow! Fortunately my human didn’t bring them back to the hotel. I’m sure I’ll be seeing lots of kitties at the show today anyhow.
