This is my box! I know what’s in it and I claim it as mine!
It’s the new Sleeky Lounge from Brawny Cat! It’s a more compact, one-piece version of their cool loungers. (We were sent the B’Tweener a few months ago). The Brawny Cat kitties — Big Baby and Little Boo Boo — gave me one to try out.
Before I could even get it out of the shrink wrap, I was surrounded. There is never a moment’s peace here, is there?
I think the lavender shade goes nicely with my fur, don’t you? It also comes in Royal Red and a Blue/Green Patina.
Since the Sleeky Lounge is meant to be for small-to-medium sized kitties, Boodie is wondering if she will fit, since she is the biggest cat here at a little over 12 pounds.
She fits! Now I will have to wrestle it back from her.
While I am trying to get the Sleeky Lounge back from Boodie, I want to let you know about the contest I am having this week! It is not your usual contest. Two readers will get a chance to win a Sleeky Lounge… for their favorite local cat rescue! This is your chance to win something for a smaller rescue that perhaps doesn’t get as much attention as some of the larger, more well-known groups, and give kitties in need something really nice. All you have to do is comment on this post and tell us a little bit about the rescue you want to get the Sleeky Lounge. You have until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday February 28 to do this. I will use random.org to choose two winners. This is only open to rescues in the continental United States and Canada, so I apologize to my international friends.
What’s more, if you want to buy your own Sleeky Lounge, or buy one and donate it yourself, they are on sale for $10 off during the time I am holding this contest. Normally they are $57, but this week they are just $47, and if you live in the continental (lower 48) United States, you get free shipping (Canadians will have to pay a small shipping fee).
So what are you waiting for? Tell us about your favorite rescue, and give it a chance to win a Sleeky Lounge!
I’d love to win this chaise lounge for A Call 4 Paws. You may recall I just did a big write up and ChipIn for them. http://www.stunningkeisha.com/2011/02/report-from-front-lines.html
We gave you the wrong link this it the correct one
http://www.animalprotectionms.com/
If we win we wants Animal Protection and Education Association, Inc. http://www.animalshelter.org/shelters/Animal_Protection_and_Education_Association_Inc_rId8022_rS_pC.html
to have it. They are a no kill shelter in Jackson County, MS
If I in the rescue I would like to donate this to would be Texas Cares. They are a no kill cat rescue. They do not have a shelter but foster cats and do adoption events at Petsmart and Petco here in Texas. I volunteer for them by cleaning cat cages and giving much, much love to the foster cats at the adoption center. I think what you are doing, Sparkle is very kind. Thank you so much.
We’d love to win that awesome prize for a gala fundraising dinner on March 25th to benefit Cat Assistance NY a small private cat rescue and shelter in Westchester County NY. We’re small but we do BIG things like finding over 200 forever homes a year. http://catassistanceny.org
We are an all-volunteer animal rescue in Pittsburgh, a small but wonderful family. We take cats that the larger organizations think unadoptable and we care for the cats in an open cattery situation where they are happy and loved. We foster kittens and dogs in private homes, we fundraise, and we run our own thrift shop. We do events and we are devoted to our animals. We never have enough money to buy wonderful accessories like the sleeky lounge.
Is Boodie (photographed on the Sleeky Lounge) a Ragdoll? I’d love for you to feature her on my website all about Ragdoll cats, if you’re willing – she would be featured as Ragdoll of the Week – you can see similar ones here: http://www.floppycats.com/category/ragdoll-of-the-week
We are not really sure what Boodie is! She and her sister were left in a box in the parking lot of a vet’s office. They were 5 months old at the time. The vet gave them to a rescue that my human was volunteering at. She kind of suspects that the two kittens were kitten mill rejects – they were totally unsocialized – and has no idea if they were Birmans, Ragdolls or some sort of mix.
Hi Four Crazy Cats – Second Chance Pet Adoptions is one of Little BooBoo’s favorite animal adoption organizations. She and Big Baby sent down a couple of BrawnyCat’s “Big Baby Jr.” Scratch’n Slumber Comfort Loungers for their 10th Annual “Auction for the Animals” event last July. It’s a great organization and BrawnyCat thanks you for adopting your kitties from them. Hoping you win too!

Hi thanks for the great contest! I would like to enter Dane County Friends of Feral’s. They are often forgotten next to the humane society. Here is their web site http://www.daneferals.org/ They do a amazing job doing many things including Trap Neuter and Return, they have two local and very popular pet supplies stores were they do socializing with cats that they think may be able to be adopted, they have a large care center that has a well room that is open for the cats that are waiting for adoption. Cats are not caged there and free to roam including sitting at the windows watching the birds at the feeders outside. There well room usually has 10-15 cats in it at a time and as you can imagine the donated furniture gets shredded very quickly. Thanks again!
Hi Tia – Big Baby at BrawnyCat said that if you win, she will direct her little sister – Little BooBoo to package up your prizes and send them to your two mentioned Rescue Shelters. Big Baby wants all her friends and cousins to enjoy Brawny Cat Scratch Loungers.
That’s a very cool bed! I’d like to nominate the humane society where my human bean visits. They have a tight budget, so they would definately appriciate one of these! It’s the Humane Society of Burnett County. (I don’t know how to make a link, but you can google them.)
We would like to nominate Second Chance Pet Adoptions in Raleigh, NC. This is where our mom and Auntie volunteered for many years. It is also where Devon, Tanner, Sophie, Pirate and Mojo came from! They have to be a good group to have helped all of us!
Pawsome giveaway Sparkle! Momma has been contact wif dem hoomans about these but I guess dey don’t has an official setup to let us carry dem through the shop. Maybe someday. Every kitty deserves a nice place to stretch out, scratch, and take a snooze. MOL
Sparkles, I hope you don’t mind if I enter. I do live across the pond from you, but I want to nominate rescues in the states and Canada anyway. Is this Ok? If so, I will be even more cheeky and enter two rescues which I hope you will consider (well, you do have two prizes!) The first is Forever Home Cat RescueIt was started by a lady called Beth who also blogs. Her mission is to rescue and adopt out cats only from shelters where they are going to euthanise them if they aren’t taken. The one she works with has a killing day three times a week in kitten season, so the poor things hardly have a chance. She’s taken a huge financial risk to set this up, so it would be great to see her get something like this for all the hard work she’s done.
The other one is the CB’s very own Chrystal of the Daily Dose of Dogs and Cats</brYou said you wanted smaller rescues, and that's what this is! Chrystal supports the furries in her care with her own money, and, of course, her love. And boy does she love! I bet a lot of folks on the CB would like to see her get something for her new cat house as we helped build it. Wouldn't that be a fitting end?
I think it’s okay to nominate a U.S. or Canadian rescue even if you don’t live in either country. I am pretty sure the Brawny Cat human is following this thread so maybe he can say something about it. I do know both rescues you are talking about, though, and I think both of them are pawsome!
What a wonderful idea, Sparkle! If I won I would give it to Save – A Friend To Homeless Animals (http://save-animals.org/)
Your Sleeky Lounge looks very comfy. We hope Boodie doesn’t try to take it over.
Our favorite rescue is the one we work with and the one where I was adopted out of. It’s Lucky Cat Adoptions (luckycats.org) — The lady who runs it is pawsome. She LOVES cats and makes it her mission to find as many homes as possible for as many as she can.

That looks like a great lounger, Sparkle! We know ya are ALL gonna enjoy it…
That is such a neat looking Sleeky Lounge. And Boodie did kind of fit. We would like to do the Brother Wolf rescue in Ashville, NC. It is about an hour from us and a wonderful place. The link is http://www.bwar.org/ It really is a super rescue shelter.
We were surprised 12# Boodie kitty fit, but she looks very comfortable! We would donate if we won, to Lost Dog & Cat Rescue in Virginia http://www.lostdogrescue.org
Just a quick note – where ever possible, I have linked to the rescue mentioned in the comments, so you can go check them out!
We want to win for Purrfect Pals at purrfectpals.org. They are a small local no kill shelter that just works with cats. They have a big room for FELV cats and another room for cats that have urinary problems. They take back any cat for any reason that doesn’t work out. We think they do a great job. They also have a lot of off site shelters in PetCo and Petsmart which means there are a lot of cats that need different toys and fun things to sit on like this!
Very cute cats
Our local shelter is AniMeals in Missoula…I am sure they would like one
We want to win one for the Space Coast Feline Network. They do great work!
The Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
What a great prize! Someone’s gonna get lucky. 🙂
My favorite rescue is Kitten Action Team, they rescued me, sisters Sascha, Gracie and Zoe. They do so much with so little, as do all of the rescue groups. I will not enter, I’ll let someone else have the pleasure, but I wanted to tell you about my rescue anyways.
Dat looks like a really neat prize to give a shelter. I would choose Happy Forever After. It’s a no kill shelter located in Marion, WI and they are now getting branch here in my city. They would probably love one of these, and I’m sure lots of their kitties would love it.
My favorite rescue is the F.O.B.A.S. (Friends of the Bridgeport Animal Shelter). While it is not the closest rescue organization, it was the source of our dog and 2 cats. I can’t help but have a soft spot for them. Our cats have a lounge that is similar to that. No one actually sits on it (they prefer the double wide for seating) but they do enjoy scratching on it.
We want to win one for Cat’s Exclusive. That’s the shelter Harley came from. They cared for Harley for six months until we adopted him, and Harley wants to do something nice to pay them back.
What a fantastic lounge! We’ll have to get Mom to hunt it down here in Australia. We know a really great shelter who could do with one.
What a great thing to give to a local rescue. I’ll be back with a little write up later.
Have a great day.
pawhugs, Max
