We had some excitement here the other day. Unfortunately, only the aftermath got documented.
My human was in the bedroom late one afternoon a few days ago, reading a book, when she heard a ruckus in the bathroom. So she went to investigate and she saw Binga staring at some icky worm writhing around on the tile.
Well, of course any smart creature would have figured out right away that it wasn’t a worm at all, but a lizard tail! And while my human was getting grossed out by this “worm,” I had grabbed the tail-less lizard in my mouth and run away with it! Unfortunately, my human did catch on after a few moments and took the lizard away from me. It was still alive, and she went outside with it. In fact she was out there for like 10 minutes, talking to it. I was disgusted.
At least I still had the tail. And it was still moving!
I got in as much play as I could because I knew that as soon as my human came back in the house, she was going to take it away too. I guess I’m lucky she spent a few minutes taking photos first.
Oooo…you are SO lucky! We don’t have fun things like that around here! Beans are such kill joys!
That’s is so strange that the tail would keep moving after being cut off! I guess it’s the same principle as a ‘chicken running around with its head cut off”.
So who did the dirty deed of severing the tail from its owner? Was that you Sparkle, or was it Binga!
I imagine the lizard can still live without its tail, although it would likely be labelled ‘disabled’.
Quite the excitement!
Last summer, Dante brought a little garter snake inside and was playing with it in the family room. It was trying to play dead, but wasn’t. I scooped it up in a container and let it go outside.
This is so awesome!
I want to take Jake when we go to Florida to visit my in-laws. They have lizards all over the place, and i know he’d have a blast chasing them!
Harley is always catching lizards, and since he knows they get taken away, he has learned to swallow them in one gulp. Our vet told my Mommeh that eating lizards can cause liver flukes in cats!
haha, Miss Sparkle, that ‘worm’ gave our mom the heeby jeebies! Nice work!! hahahaha
She talked to it? What do you suppose she said?? Do you think she apologized for your bad manners in trying to kill it? Did it accept the apology? There has to be Part II to this story, MOL!
Holy COW!!! Still moving!!! Glogirly is standing up on top of the couch just thinking about it.
Ew. Wow, that is truly gross. I’m glad you got to play with the … thing … though.
I agree with Carol………..”Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!” I am totally creeped out!
How fun! Sparkle, you are lucky to have a lizard come into your house. For all the bugs we get inside, we have yet to have a lizard – and since we’re not allowed out any more, we can only drool at them through the window. Too bad you couldn’t have snacked on the lizard (or tail) before your mom-person intervened.

Here lizards do not appear to us to play! =(((

Ps.: Momm says Argh!!!!!!
OH Sparkle
Those a good things to play with!

Sorry you did not get to keep your prize, Sparkle. Back when my cats caught lizards, I never took them away. I was happy to have cats to get rid of them for me 🙂
Neat, to play with something that moves on its own.
We don’t have lizards here and the flies are no fun.
I am fascinated, but Heather is telling me to ask: why on earth was the poor thing’s tail still moving?!
We live in Florida, so lizards are always the special du Jour…. Depsite that, no matter how many times we catch one (they are surprisingly slow and lazy) our human gets all bent out of shape. She does not like to pick them up, so she kind of gently sweeps them into a dustpan as she gingerly runs to awkwardly open the door without one of the seven of us getting out!!! Good God woman, is it really worth all that fuss? She seems to think so….
Happy hunting to you Sparkle! Love to you from Zee, Zoey, Mia, Peanut, Rolz, Harley, and Jazz. Concats on the Petties win too!
Wow, good hunting Sparkle! I must say I think I would like to play wif a lizard. That was amazing that the tail kept moving! It’s too bad your human took it away from you. I bet you would haf had so much fun playing wif it!
Darn it. They are so squeamish, aren’t they? Leave our toys alone, Moms!
Another Pettie win, and now a lizard…you’re on a roll Sparkle!!!
oooo – dat do look like fun. M says we don’t has any of those cratures here so not to ask for any to play with.
Sparkle, ya gotta eat the lizzard up FAST! That’s what we try to do. You can always yak it back up for later enjoyment; we do that, too!
Mommy says yuk! I wanna know if you got a taste of that lizard!
We have Western skinks here that if the Farm cats catch them they drop their tails. And guess what? Their tails are neon blue! Very noticeable….
Fanatastic Sparkle you are a supreme huntress to get that Lizard to bad you could not keep him. At least your human loves to take pics of everything so you got to play with that tail much longer.
Oh boy! Oh how fun! FUN!!! Lucky you!!!!
Wow! That was exciting! We has lizards, me hopes Kozmo does NOT bring one in (or snakes)
Kisses
Nellie
It seems to us that once lizards come into your house, they are fair game to become a snack! It was not fair of your human to put it back outside again since that is breaking the rules!
EEEEEK! Still moving? Do you mean the tail took on a life of its own?
#1 keeps doing that to us too. But today, we managed to corner a baby lizard….. And she arrived too late. Deliciously gruesome, really.

We don’t get lizards here. So not fair!
She took the lizard away? That’s so wrong! It was yours.
Gagggghhhhh! Our mom is so grossed out even though it’s “just” a tail…EWWWWWWW! And it was still moving?
Aacckkkk!
My mom was really grossed out when she thought it was some strange alien worm! Phew, just a lizard tail. We can handle that! 😀
That was very unkind of your mom Sparkle – did she want to nom on the tailless lizard too!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Oh that sounds like so much fun! We don’t get lizards here and our Mom is very thankful for that. We can’t believe the tail was still moving!
Man that is really gross Sparkle!!!
Now why did your human spoil all your fun and take that leezard away?? At least you still had that tail!
Humans do not understand the full amount of funs you can have with lizards. It’s like they’ve never seen them before or something!
Bugsy and Knuckles had a lizard cornered a couple of weeks ago. It too had no tail. I think that is the first thing to go. HH said that it grows back if the lizard lives through the feline encounter.
Have a great day…
pawhugs, Max
You human took the lizard away from you. and she was out there for 10 minutes !
Are you sure she just talk to the lizard ,Sparkle ?
10 minutes !.. 10 minutes had so much time to swallowing da whole lizard !!!
Very Very Suspenseful !
Our mommy lets us have the lizards inside or outside. It’s a part of our job! Maybe you should live in the country?!?
Ewwwww! Did the lizard make it? It does look like a worm.
