Thursday Gardening: the Resurrection

May 12, 2011 By: Sparkle Cat26 Comments

Guess what? I may have some good gardening news!

I am really more excited than I look

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when my dumb human allowed the brush clearance crew to tear out my catnip? Well check out the planter where the nip was.

Could it be...?

See the green? Here’s a closer look.

I think it is!!!

Maybe the clearance crew didn’t get it all because it looks like it is coming back! I mean, that looks pretty much like catnip to me, don’t you think?

That’s great news! It’s good that ‘nip seems to be tenacious. How could anyone deny you your catnips, anyway?

My mom tried to plant me some catnip, but I ate all the sprouts and she said I had to learn better self control before she would plant more. You are lucky that your human doesn’t put limits on your nip consumption!!

It certainly does look like catnip. That stuff, like mint, is very hard to kill, although my peep does a great job killing my indoor plant.

It IS coming back and someone in the crew needs a very smart scratch to remind them to leave YOUR property alone.

Miss Sparkle, the only nip we’ve seen is brown and flaky. We never knew it was supposed to be green and leafy.

It is pretty hardy stuff. That is definitely catnip. Mine get put in a pot on the deck, and dies off over the winter, but often resurrects again the next summer. In fact we better go and check the put under the deck and see what is up with it. Though dad had promised me a new fresh plant this year. Daaaaaaad?

I love it ! Die Hard Cat Nip : )
You know what.. The nip will grow so fast and spread fill all your garden bed ! Like mine !
when mom plant it, Just one ! and she didn’t expect nip will grow fast and spread cover all. She have to move other plants out off the way of nip because my nip covered it all. I can’t wait to see your nip grow more !
