I got to have a therapy cat visit at USC this week, to help the students destress before the holiday season — and finals — kick in. Usually they set me up outside in this quad type of area, but this time, they put my table in one of the buildings that surround it. That turned out to be a much better location for me! I was way more comfortable inside, and I even got to wander around the room on my leash.
Before I got there, they had a been a little concerned that not enough people knew about the therapy pet event. But they needn’t have worried — the moment I got there, I was swarmed by students wanting to see me! So word did get out, and lots of people wanted some kitty energy. And I was ready for them.
Honestly, it felt more like a meet and greet than a therapy cat visit. Nobody was sick, and everyone had lots of questions about me — how old I was, my breed, the usual. And everyone wanted to pet me and take pictures of me and I gave lots of students high fives and paw shakes. The visiting was nonstop for almost the whole 90 minutes I was there! I met students from all over the world, literally. Some grew up not far from USC, and some came from other countries. All of them got some quality time with me.
It was a pretty day, and I had such a nice time. I’m looking forward to coming back again next semester!

That’s a wonderful visit, Summer, you sure make people happy, ❤️
You are a celebrity sounds like a nice visit
You were a fun “change of pace” for those students. You must
have been a bit tired after all the excitement and attention.
Your “public” is always happy to see you wherever you go. That
has to be very satisfying after all the work you and your human do.
It’s always nice to be adored, Summer.
And you are adorable!
