As most of you probably know, my human went to the Cat Writers Conference over the weekend. From what I gather, it was mostly a bunch of humans who write about cats, hanging out and drinking and having “sessions” and “panels” and goofing off and not being home, taking care of their cats. But there were a couple of actual cats there! One of them was Zeki, who you see above. She is a therapy kitty who works alongside pet expert Arden Moore at many of her speaking engagements. That is pretty amazing, considering that Zeki was the victim of a brutal knife attack when she was young! But she did not let that color her attitude towards people (except for maybe the paparazzi!).
Another awesome cat was Spirit, and if you couldn’t see his eyes, you would have no idea he was blind! He was active and played and was totally fearless as he wandered around the hotel area where the conference was going on. While a bunch of the “cat” writers had a book signing party (my books were available with my pawtograph), Spirit hung out on the table and pretty much stole the show. And he is not even an author.
At the airport, my human found this Hello Kitty display in one of the stores. How she managed to restrain herself and not buy anything, I don’t know! But who cares about that stuff, because she already had something more important in tow…
The swag that she brought home from the conference! This is the best part of the whole conference, as far as I am concerned! (Although I do hear that the awards banquet included shrimp enchiladas.)
Look at all this loot! The “Cat” Writers really know how to put together awesome swag!
Not to mention the awesome bag from World’s Best Cat Litter! Somebody said that the retail value of everything in the bag was over $1000 (that includes a couple things that actually would not fit in the bag)! I think it is priceless. It is going to take me a while to figure out what to put together for my giveaway later this month! I may have to bargain with my human to keep a couple of things I really want!
If you are wondering where Binga was, here she is. My human just didn’t get any decent photos of her. I think she was too excited.
Boodie really enjoyed looking through all the swag too. If you are wondering what she liked best, here she is with her favorite toy out of the whole bag:
I am slowly trying to catch up Sparkle, and all that loot looks fantabulous…still not enough to forgive your human for being gone…just my thoughts on the subject…
Sparkle So wonderful to see your human at CWA!
That’s a great photo of Zeki. Mine came out blurry. She moved so much.
I’ll be posting my CWA experience soon. Janiss you look great in the photos–you sure know how to pose! And very photogenic. I have a great photo of you and Deb outside with natural light.
Oh and the after party… stay tuned!
That’s some awesome swag.
Don’t fancy trading moms do ya, Sparkle? 😉
Wow! This looks amazing! Maybe Blogpaws could learn a thing or two from this conference 😉
looks like your Mom really cleaned up!
Good that having left you, your mum had the common sense to know that she couldn’t return home empty handed!!
Wowwwww Holy Molly do I see some KITTY BOINKS THERE??????!!!! 😀
Silver
HEY HEY HEY Silver get off the computer – just because Mum has not been well doesn’t mean you can hog the comments! 😐
Miranda

Sorry Sparkle – Miranda 😥
that is a huge haul of swag Sparkle,See you in a couple of weeks,xx Speedy
We apawlaude the actal kitties who were there. Brave and tolerant…
That is some story about Zeki. What a sweet, trusting kitty she is and we are so happy she ended up with the awesome forever home and Human she did. OMC, that is fabulous swag for sure…I have a purple toy just like the one Boodie chose as her favorite.
P.S. What’s REALLY pawsome is that Zeki seems to have somehow understood that while one horrible Human hurt her, it was probably LOTS of very good Humans who saved her. XOXOXO
Well, look at what a good girl Boodie is with her one little toy. It took us a l-o-n-g time to be sure what part(s) of Binga we were lookin’ at and frankly I am still not 100% sure.
Awesome swag!
Would you believe that Glogirly STILL hasn’t unpacked the swag???
Waffles and I have located the bag and we’re going in!
; )
Neither have I! But the cats and dog beat me to it! This time I got proof. A lot of butts sticking out of the bag.
Wow, what a haul! I guess your human’s brief absence was worth it!
Wow! That is a huge swag bag. Those kitties are very brave to come and meet everyone. I would be hiding away.
Well you got a good score didn’t you?
That’s a huge bag of swag! Our mommy needs to start writing! (She wants to really bad but just hasn’t found the time to do it.)
I love Boodie…so easily pleased.
Boodie is a simple girl…and ever so pretty…
Oh Zeki! That’s awful, but what is great is what she is doing now 🙂
Pawesome stuff Sparkle! Boodie is too cute playing with her toy
Amazing bag of swag! OMC. We wouldn’t know where to start! Boodie looks so beautiful and sweet! Binga, on the other hand, looks like a cat possessed. Hope you get to keep the things you want, Sparkle. You are always so generous and give so much to other kitties. Purrs.
Oh wow! that makws me wanna jump through the screen and come play with all that swag!
♥ Pasha
Whoa! That’s incredible! Just look at all that stuff! Maybe we need to send our mom next year! Purrs…
I loved the big yellow ball the best!! I can chase it and pick it up with my teeth.
did you say shrimp??? sorry – we got distracted. 🙂
Now THAT is what we call cat swag….holy moly!!
SCORE! You hit the jackpot! Yeah, I know she won’t let you keep it all. How come Blogspaw can’t get a bag of cat swag like this?? A few years ago, TW did bring home that pawsome WBL bag but it was empty.
I was trying to save my swag for a special presentation to the household, but first Emeraude broke into it, then the boys opened packages! We had a wild catnip party and put everything away, but I do have some party pictures. Great to see your human, Sparkle!
Now that’s a whole lotta SWAG! That should keep you in fun stuff for a while Sparkle (well, you, Binga AND Boodie actually). Those kitties Zeki and Spirit – what special guys. I love hearing about animals who overcome the bad stuff and BECOME the good stuff. Bless them both.
Kitty Hugs Sammy
Woo! Quite the swag bag. I’m totally sending my momFOD next year. I want that bag! – Crepes.
That toy Boodie is playing with looks PAWSOME!!!
A knife attack?! Man I’d love to hear her story! Sounds like your meowm had a great time and boy did you get some swag!
Ray says he likes Boodie’s toy & wants to know if she’ll share.
Purrz!
Selina
That sure looks like a ton of kitty fun!!!
It’s like Christmas morning in your house today! Love the picture of sweet Boodie and her little toy.
Wowwee! Just look at all that stuff!! And that’s okay, Boodie, sometimes the best toys are the simple ones.
sounds like a great conference!
Wowser, that is one gigantic bag of goodies.Sounds like it was a good conference. How neat to meet a blind cat. Take care and enjoy your day.
Wow! Glad your mom had a great time & brought y’all good stuff!
That stuff she brought is far better then a Hello Kitty with glasses, lol ! I think she should go away more often and bring home all these good things ! I admire blind cats, they go along so well !
Very nice swag 😉
We are impressed at those too brave kitties at the conference.
Being around all those strangers and not being scared is amazing 😯
Bet it’s good to have your Mom back 🙂
Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
Treasure,Tiger, JJ and Julie
OMC !
What a grrreat swagbag !!
Me too LOVE that kind of balls as Boodie liked 🙂
XOXO
What a wonderful bag of loot your Mom brought home to you. Spirit must be very brave walking round everywhere in a place he didn’t know well. Zeki does such great work as a therapy cat we’re afraid we would be scared going into unknown places.
