Happy St. Catrick’s Day! This is the day we celebrate the famous Irish kitty and eat corned beef flavored cat treats, so it is a pretty cool day. Some of you may already know them, but I thought I’d tell you some St. Catrick’s Day legends.
Did you know that…
- There are no snakes in Ireland because St. Catrick and all his friends hunted and ate them all? That’s why this day is alternately known as the St. Catrick’s Day Massacre.
- The story of the four-leaf clover comes from St. Catrick? Legend has it that he found a four-leaf clover, waved his paw over it, and turned it into a huge nip garden! Now all cats look for four-leaf clovers, hoping that they can do the same thing.
- St. Catrick was playing with a pipe cleaner, and one time he whapped it a little too hard and it turned into a silvervine plant! That is why kitties enjoy whapping pipe cleaners so much.
Okay… so maybe I made up one or two of these stories. But I hope your St. Catrick’s Day is awesome. Don’t overindulge on the green nip beer!
