I haven’t even begun this blog post and Binga is already acting like a negative creep! All because a friend of my human’s gave her something for us cats — and Binga just assumed that meant cat, i.e., singular, i.e., her.
It’s a nip cassette from my favorite alternative rock band, Purrvana! My human’s friend got it from the Too Bad Mice Etsy store.
See the brown ribbon? It is supposed to be audio tape, which was used to record sound many, many cat generations ago!
I think there is something in the way in this photo! Once again, Binga is hogging a toy that does not belong to her! I think she needs to be on lithium.
Fortunately, my human locked Binga away with no apologies so I could enjoy the cool nippy music.
Without Binga to annoy me, I can rock out and sing along! And it does not matter if I am out of tune, as long as I am loud!
Don’t worry, Boodie got to enjoy Purrvana too. And you are welcome to stop by — come as you are!
By the way, can you guess my very favorite Purrvana song? I will give you a couple of hints: it has the same title as the song by the human version of the band, and if you like them and you know cats, you will probably guess! Extra points if you can tell me how many song references there are in my blog post!
We don’t know the answer but we are very familiar with cassette tapes. The humans in our house probably have some old “mix tapes” from the 80’s in the basement….I mean how would we even play them anymore? On our imagination? And you know I love Binga…I can’t help it. At least when she is a pest, your mom seems to help you out and that is pawsome. The Purrvana nip is pawsome too!
Purrvana ROCKS yous! Mes gots to try that group!
kisses
Nellie
*sigh* we should know better to out-guess CK on the tunes!! MOL!
I asked my human and she has no clue as to the answer to your question. She does remember cassette tapes because she’s as old as the hills! Meow and Namaste! ~ Pippy the Feline Yogini
We think that is a super-cool present and we still feel you are unfair to the beauteous and lovely Binga.
Plus, my Human says if it came after 1973 she doesn’t have a prayer of getting it. She stopped listening to any new music after Court and Spark.
I don’t know them songs but you girls ROCK…MOL 😉
Lithium! Something in the way? Oh, Nevermind!
We aren’t very good at counting and the mom isn’t too good with lyrics, but we did catch a couple of them.
Looks like everyone had great fun with this. Love the cassette and the brown ribbon but no idea of the song.
Don’t think they could have said it on the radio–Uh..would it be “M.V.?” I can’t believe I’m admitting I even know that song.
Oh my goodness, that brown ribbon for the “tape” is so clever!
Goodness, my human’s so old, she was old and dead in the head before purrvana even started!
We counted 7. TW was a huge fan of the human band. Your fave could be Big Cheese or Milk It. I think Binga needs to Stay Away. Her presence seems to Drain You.
MOL! I think you mentioned every last one of their songs except my fave! Another hint – it was not a single. I don’t think they could have said the name on the radio.
Oh, but you did get the number right! I bet you even got the “secret” reference.
Hmmm, Territorial P!$$ings? heh heh. That’s prolly one of TW’s faves too. I play it occasionally at Nipclub. Yep, we included the secret one.
Everyone beat us to it. Must be cat spirit, right?
Smells like kitty spit? We have no idea and our mommy is useless in helping us since she’s on some wacky cough syrup these days. Poor Binga always has to be put away and doesn’t get to have fun!
That is a really cute idea for a catnip toy!! I think my sister has the last remaining, actually working, real cassette player. MOL.
We don’t have a clue what your favorite song would be. But I bet is good and that Binga needs to move over. Have a great day.
You can boogie and whiff at the same time, purrfect!
here we are now…entertain us…does the cassette smell like teen spirit?
We wondered about the lithium reference!
What a fun cat toy! Just love it!
Loved this post! Maybe you could start a band Binga, Boodie and you. You would be the lead singer and Binga could be the one breaking the guitars on stage? 😉
Yeah! Binga could borrow some of my human’s boyfriend’s guitars. I am sure he would not miss a couple.
Oh now that’s music to my ears!
looks like you all liked that one Sparkle,xx Speedy
This is such a cute toy! I love your face singing loudly, Sparkle. I’m sure you have lovely voice 🙂
About the favorite song, I have no idea!

I’m old so I know about cassette tapes – as for the rest – well, I’m old…
Boodie appears to be quite mellow already! Enjoy!
Purrz!
Selina
Smells like a cat spirit ! Purrs
Really cool looking niptoy !

Could your favorite song maybe be , Smells Like Teen Spirit
XOXO
Heeee. Binga my girl (sorry Sparkle) you rock! You too Boodie. Literally, of course what with the cassette and all. xoxox
Well, that certainly was a favourite! We’re sorry not to be able to guess on the song. That band is not one #1 ever cared to listen to as she was well past teenage angst by the time they appeared.
Purrs,
The Chans
It seems we’re not the only ones with hogging sibling issues this Monday.
Negative Creep/Come As You Are/Lithium/Something in the Way. That is a pawsome and clever nip toy. Binga is just so cute, we can’t help but cheer her on at least a little. Sparkle you really did get into that meyowling (singing). Enjoy your nippy new treat. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Misty May, Mauricio, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Our mom still has some of those cassette tapes if you can believe it. But we love the one you have! Poor Binga just never learns, does she?
Now that’s a cassette we could get into! We’re glad you all got to enjoy the “music.”
We’re guessing 4 song references. We have no idea what song you might like, but we’re going to guess Milk It.
Mom is very old and remembers cassettes. She never had a ‘nip one though!!
The Florida Furkids
OH SPARKLE….SOME KITTY NAMED Binga can be most singled minded but thank goodness you gave him a huge piece of you mind!
WTG
Hugs Madi your Bfff
That’s a really cool gift from your human’s friend. All cats deserve the chance to rock out!
We guess…. three references?
That looks like one cool gift! I don’t know anything about cassettes but my mum does as she is a bit old 🙂
That looks like a cool present!
We can understand why Binga (and the rest of you ) like it!
Does it Smell(s) like teen spirit?
Purrs Tillie and Georgia,
Treasure,Tiger, JJ and Julie
Oh dear we have no idea of your favourite song – sorry.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
