Here I am at the San Diego Cat Show, a day early! My human and I stopped by the Del Mar Fairgrounds (where the show is) before going to the hotel. Whenever possible, we enjoy setting up the day before. Especially this show — my human is also in charge of the Somali breed booth this year.
So we were actually there for about an hour and a half. It was kind of a long walk from where we parked to where our benching area is. And there was a lot to bring into the show hall.
She had a problem with the breed booth materials. Usually, most of them fit into a big, suitcase-sized box that she puts into the trunk of her Mini. But this time, she had her own suitcase in the trunk since we are spending the night at a hotel. And there wasn’t room for the big box, me, and all my stuff inside the Mini. So she had to take everything out of the box and just stuff it where ever she could! At the moment, it looks like someone threw up glitter all over her back seat. It looks nice all set up, though.
The hotel room is another story altogether! My human loathes it. It is tiny, like so small that there’s no place for her to put the suitcase. There isn’t even a closet. She had to put the suitcase on the bed because there’s nowhere else. And the heater barely works at all. And — this is what really upsets her — there’s nowhere to work out! She is going to try some standing Pilates routine when we get back from the show on Saturday. There might be just enough room for that.
Oh well, next time we will find a better hotel to stay in. Meanwhile, I think this room is fine, really. It’s perfectly kitty sized! My human is just a whiner.

Oh no! When the rooms too small for the humans that’s a problem indeed. Your poor mom. And no workout room, Ugh. Well, at least you liked the room. Cozy and kitty sized. Purrs
One day you’ll discover they’re ALL whiners, Summer. That nice beddy looks just the perfect size for you! She can sleep in her suitcase.
We sure hope you and your human have a great show, Summer! Sorry the hotel room isn’t so great, though. 🙁
What’s up with your ribbons and stuff? Are you getting any more?
Purrz!

As long as you’re happy, what else matters? MOL on the glitter. I few years ago I was shopping at Michaels craft store just before Christmas, and the young man who checked me out was complaining that there was so much glitter on everything in the store that he was finding it in his underwear.
Ew!!!!!!!!!!!
A cat with her tail up in the air, means a Happy Cat!!
Summer have fun..I think your booth is fabulous and the room does look very nice too.
MOL MOL you human is a whiner. That made me giggle. I guess sometimes I can be a whiner too when I tired.
Maybe your human is tired.
Hugs Cecilia
All the patterned fabrics for your booths are beautiful. Too bad about the tiny room. Exercises on the bed would add a balancing component to the workout.
It is disappointing when the room doesn’t live up to expectations. I am sure you and your mum will manage just fine though.
Can’t wait to see your photos from the event! We have a Mini too, and as much as we love it, when we go shopping, we use our other car – MOL!
#1 has friends who live in Del Mar!
Sorry about the hotel room. #1 is used to small rooms from her visits to Japan, but they are usually big in the States.
Purrs,
Tama and Genji
I know you’ll have fun at the show sweet Summer, you look ready!
Have a good show!!
Bodacious
That does look like a tiny room. Perfect for a kitty, but not a human.
What a pretty kitty.
That brought home to me and mom that it IS a big deal trying to get things ready, settled in the car and back out for the show. Especially with all the walking and carrying.
Well all that stuff set up looks good in spite of the mini packing issue. Dad loves the throwing up glitter thing. We’re sorry the room was so tiny, but hope it’s fun anyway. Good luck and enjoy the weekend!
The booth does look great all set up. You are
wearing a new leash collar I haven’t seen before –
very nice. I hope the show goes great for you both.
Your human works so hard for you! Sorry about your room but I know you will make it better for her! Have FUN!
Well Summer, you have to consider her feelungs. Shows are a lot of work. I had myself a “Summer” years ago. My beloved Citlin was a ribbon winner albeit in the household category at the CFA shows. She won second, fourth, 5th and one year she took it all. The coveted Morris award trophy and best household cat. I was so proud of her. She wasn’t purebred but absolutely gorgeous. Silver with huge emerald eyes. Sweetest face and disposition. Smart, did tricks and liked clothes like you. She was the perfect kitty and my great love. She slept on my heart. I’m tearing up so bye for now
Oh no, I hope you and your Mom have a good time at the show! Hopefully that will make up for the crummy room!
Hope to see you in Portland sometime!
I’m kicking myself for missing you in December!
