It’s always an event when a big box arrives at our house. And this was especially exciting for Binga and Boodie because the SmartScoop humans sent over a brand new automatic litter box for them to try out!
What, you are wondering why it’s not for me? I don’t like the automatic litter boxes. I like my nice, old fashioned one. I prefer to have my human work harder for me, not make things easier for her!
My human was a little intimidated at first when she saw the big page of assembly instructions.
But she was impressed to see how much more room there was for the cats compared to the old electronic litter box.
Once she began putting it together, my human realized it was not as difficult as it first appeared. It wasn’t long before she had it assembled and ready to put into place.
But before she could move it to its spot and plug it in, Binga was already using it!
Yes, Boodie and I thought she was a little bit nuts.
I think she just wanted the chance to fling litter all over the place. She loves doing that.
Finally my human got the SmartScoop moved, and Binga was even happier.
Boodie was a little freaked out by the motor:
But that did not stop her from using it later on.
So far, my human thinks it works better than the other automatic litter boxes we have had — and we have had several! And Binga and Boodie like the extra room. It is not without its drawbacks however.
Once it actually flung a whole deposit over the edge, even with the litter barrier in place. And as you can see, nothing can keep litter from scattering when you have a cat like Binga, who prides herself in making a mess. But the ramp did catch a lot of litter, which made it easier to clean. So Binga, Boodie and my human give the SmartScoop paws and thumbs up!
You can buy the SmartScoop from PetCo,
Note: Although the litter box was provided for free by the SmartScoop humans, Binga and Boodie’s and my human’s opinions are all their own. And we are PetCo affiliates, so we get commissions when you buy items you’ve clicked on from my blog!
We’re not sure we like the idea of an automatic poop box … scary! The very thort makes us feel … konsteepated!
We has been having problems commenting but Mom has downloaded FireFox just for blogging and thinks this may help ~ who knows, if she likes it, maybe she’ll kick smelly old Internet Explorer owt!
good review, Sparkle! We prefer making our mom do the work too 🙂 Actually, our mom thinks we’d be afraid of the motor and doesn’t want to risk the green papers. Minnie’s like Binga, if our mom puts clean litter in the box, she’s gotta go, even if she just went!

Oh HELL no. Spitty’s not goin’ NEAR a monster machine like THAT. No friggin’ way. Uh-UH. It’s the plain ole box for me!
Great review, Sparkle! Happy World Animal Day to you!
I have considered getting an electronic cat box but I am worried that no one will actually use it. I think it would make my life easier but possibly not the cats.
I was hooing an automatic litter box meant it went for you so you! I thing the motor would freak out one of my sisters!
Thanks for the demo!
This was very informative!

I think I might be a little skerred of that thing!
Binga is such a good tester outter! We’ve never had one of those before but if we did, what would our Daddy do? We need a lid on our box because we are flingers too.
Good review! I don’t think we would like the noise, though, and Kit is a litter flinger so we haf a covered box.
We have never seen an motorised litter box before! Clever idea, although the noisy moving parts must be a little strange at first! Purrs and thanks from Bea for your well wishing 🙂
OMC! It’s the Great American Sh#t Toss in person! Years ago this had TW ROTF. http://www.netfunny.com/rhf/jokes/02/Dec/litter.html
Thank you kitties for the demo. We wanted to give mama more work so for now we’ll keep what we have 🙂
Casper is a litter flinger also so we use the Clevercat boxes 🙂
We used to have an automatic scooping box. We all loved it, but I loved it a little too much. I would sit on the front and watch the rake go back and forth. Of course, then the poop compartment couldn’t open for the poop to go in. So mom gave it to a friend. I miss that box. It really was fun to watch.
I am a good cat and use whatever litter box is around. I have no problem with the breeze or any other box or litter. Well someday when my good nature is taken advantage of I shall rise up and make my real needs known–but until then…
That was amazing, an automatic kitty box cleaner. But I would still use the old-fashioned box. I’m terrified hearing motorized things in my house.
Most technologically impressive. But we live in France and haven never seen anything quite that fancy anywhere around here. so #1 scoops the scoopables by hand!
Purrs,

The publicist used to have an automatic litter box and she and the cats really liked it but she had to give it up when she and the male person took off in the trailer. She thinks one would be great now with 4 cats….but she doesn’t have any extra $$$$. We goats are expensive.
Cool litter box! I’ve wondered about the automatic scooping ones before but unfortunately I think Scarlett shares your opinion of them, so I’d better stick to the traditional kind.
Mom isn’t sure about the noise factor – and she thinks it could stand to be a little bigger – we gots some big kitties in this house. MOL But great review and something to think about. 🙂
It seemed a little noisy to us which mum said would wake her up if we had one and used it in the night.

Derry thinks that looks like some sort of bizarre monster. The mom thinks it would put him off using any litter box. LOL. Nicki would investigate, but the jury’s out on whether he’d use something like that. We like our plain, old fashioned giant-sized boxes, nothing automatic about them…except that the mom automatically scoops every time we make a deposit. Ha.
Thanks for that great review. I don’t think anyone here would go anywhere near that. Noises around here are just horribly scary. Have yourselves a great day.
Thanks for that review, Sparkle. We’re like you…we like the old-fashioned kinda box. Besides, what would our mom do if she didn’t have our litterboxes to clean??
What a fabulous and modern litter box!I have never had an automatic one, but I’m very impressed now, thanks for your review!

M cat sat once for 3 kitties, and they had an automatic one, only about 5 years ago. They have probably changed a lot since the early models. She prefers scooping rather than emptying that little holding box. it probaby would be very nice if you had multiple cats. Good review friend.
Hmm, we have never had an automatic one, so I wonder how we would react. Mom guesses Audrey would be fine with it, and I would be scared of it.
I didn’t have automatic litter box, but I got automatic mom…MOL
Thanks for the demo. It looks like a good one. The boys have never used an automatic litter box. Maybe someday.
pawhugs, Max
