My human went to a cat show the other day and she brought home something “special” for me. It always concerns me when she says that, because sometimes “special” is secret human code for “really annoying.” But from the looks of the bag, I thought it might actually be something good.
Inside was a package of things I had never seen before! I wondered if I should stick around or try to make a quick escape.
Fortunately I looked at the label before running away — it was raw, freeze-dried duck hearts!
My human gave me one and it was really yummy! And since it was a real, raw heart it gave me the chance to pretend I was a fierce wild cat in the forest, hunting and killing my own prey!
That was fun, but then I was interrupted by Boodie, who is kind of the opposite of a fierce wild cat. I tried to figure out what a dangerous mountain lion would do in this instance, but my human said she didn’t care, and I had to share my “prey.” Darn!

well, we haven’t tried duck hearts yet. interesting…
Well, it looks icky to me, but I’ll bet my kittes would enjoy those. I’ll have to see if I can get them here. (I am kinda sad for the ducks who lost their hearts though)
Well, those look really tasty to me. But apparently we can’t get them in Australia. Or so my mum says, anyway. I’m not sure I believe her.
We bet Boodie won’t appreciate them as much as you do, Sparkle! You gotta be fierce to appreciate a duck heart!!
You are lucky, those are the hottest things going!
I’m glad you like them, Sparkle Cat! I’m gonna have to try them too.
P.S. Ask your staff to buy some raw chicken or chicken liver for you. Very yummy too! She’ll have to cut it up for you, but nothing’s too good for us, right?
@Angel You just need to have your human break them up into small pieces – since they are freeze dried, it’s easy to do. As you can tell from the photo, my human was lazy and did not make the pieces small enough! (But I didn’t mind – gnawing on them helped me pretend I was a mountain lion! Isabella would probably prefer smaller pieces, though.)
We just heard about these from others on our post today too. We’re going to make our mommy get us some. Isabella doesn’t chew her food cause she had teefs problems when she was little so still swallows her food even though her teefs are fixed. Will that cause a problem when eating these?

Those look very good. We are transitioning to a more natural diet and we want some of thuse duck hearts!

We eat raw food and one of our favorite treats is raw chicken necks. They make a delightful crunchy noise when you bite them! And the bones are good for our teeth.
Goodness, in that 4th picture you certainly look fierce! But beautifully so…
That looks like a great treat Sparkle. Bet they are yummy. You are a very lucky kitty to have such good food.
Have a great day.
We got some freeze-dried mouse treats and freeze-dried calamari treats when our mom went to the Cat Writer’s conference a few years ago. Now that’s a treat! We could eat those all day. Wish mom would go to that conference more often except that we have no one to sleep on when she’s gone.

They look yummy and oh, so good for you!
Oh, I have those treats, too! Aren’t they delicious? My Mommeh usually breaks them up for me a little bit.
Well, darn. Sharing is no fun if you really don’t want to.
