It was a quick therapy cat visit to the children’s hospital. Sometimes it just works out that way. It was a quiet day. The volunteer who was along on Thursday’s visit was there again. She hadn’t been to this facility since they moved from the old location, so my human and I showed her around.
There were only a couple of patients waiting for their appointments. One was a little girl who was missing part of a leg. She tucked it under her other leg while she visited with me. Only one kid was getting an exam, and our volunteer friend took a photo for the parents. We actually had a bunch of staff members surrounding me at one point. (I guess it was a quiet day for them too!) One nice man in scrubs got down on his stomach to pet me and talk to me. Our volunteer friend asked him if he had cats at home, and he said, “No, actually I’m allergic!” He just happened to find me irresistible. It’s too bad he was allergic — he’s a natural cat person!
On Tuesdays, we go up to the Pre-Op area, but there wasn’t anybody for us to visit this time. And only one girl in rehab — she got to pose with me for a photo.
Even though there weren’t many patients, I still made the most of my time and showed off my high fives and had good visits. It’s been a busy week, with two therapy visits and a cat show in between them! So I’m kind of glad this one was slower than normal.
