I can’t believe how sneaky my human is! While she was at the Cat Writers Conference this past weekend, she was one of several attendees given leftover goodies to pass along to local shelters and rescues. I had no idea she was part of this until she hauled this amazing box into the living room yesterday!
It is pretty much the same as what we got in our goodie bag earlier this week — only lots more! In fact, a lot of the items from our goodie bag will be added to this. In fact, there are two boxes going to two different rescues!
Somebody does not look happy that all these goodies are going away. But that is too bad because they are. We have done a lot for rescues all over the U.S. this year, and my human wanted to do something locally for once. One box is going to the Friends of Animals Foundation, an organization that her boyfriend got to know when he was working at the vet clinic. The other one is called Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats! They specialize in TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), and socializing and adopting out feral kittens. She is hoping the treats and toys will go to good use as “enrichment” for the kitten’s schooling.
This is a great time to do this because November 19 is National Get a PAL for Your Pet Day, and these two groups have lots of awesome, adoptable kitties! I also wanted to mention that Pets Add Life is having a “Help a Shelter Out” contest — go to this Facebook page of theirs and you can vote! The contest closes November 16, and the shelter with the most votes gets $10,000 — the second place shelter gets $3,000 and third place gets $2,000.
Before these boxes go out, somebody needs to do quality control and make sure everything is in order. I immediately appointed myself. Besides, Binga was disqualified. I will show you why.
I found this evidence a couple of days ago — Binga was sneaking into the goodie bag behind my human’s back!
I would never sneak treats without permission!
By the way, Pets Add Life is having a Blog Hop! If you want to take part, and help promote how much we add to humans’ lives, just add a post that shows off some of the fun things you do!
This post is sponsored by the Pets Add Life campaign and the American Pet Products Association. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about the benefits and joys of pet ownership.
Sparkle, you are pawsome giving all that cool stuff to kitties who don’t have as much as you. I would do that too. But like Cathy Keisha, I might have to give each one a sniff or two…..just sayin’…trying to be honest, paw pats, Savannah
Sparkle, Your humans is just the bestest! Me thinks that all the kitties that get these treats will be very thankful!
Kisses
Nellie
wow is right, Sparkle! we think it’s so pawsome that you are going to donate that for the rescue kitties. You now, maybe Binga and Minnie are long-lost sisters 😀
Pip, Smidgen, MInnie, HOllie
Okay, okay–then it all comes down to the lazy Human then, like everything irritating always does. Sigh. What she needs to do is go to bed earlier so that she won’t be such a lazypants in the morning. Or can’t she just get a sleep mask or something? Why is it always the innocent Kitteh that has to suffer?
It’s great that you are helping so many rescues! We wish we could do something to help out, too.
Sparkle darling, I must tell you that, DST or no DST, you really do get exactly the same number of hours of sunpuddles! It is not (yet) within the purview of the Humans to actually alter the number of hours the sun shines in the day. Although I wouldn’t put it past them to try, I have to say.
ohhhh that expression on Binga’s face – PRICELESS. Highpaw to the TNR rescue group – that’s unsung hero work for sure!
I was right there wif you Sparkle till you ratted out poor Binga, who was only going after life-sustaining sustenance after all. On a different note, if you put some treats in that box, maybe she’d go in after them….and, well, you know. If she fits, she ships?
Jackpot! Quality control is so important. How neat that so many kitties will get to enjoy all of those goodies.
QC is very difficult,
but you are doing so great~
Wow! The shelter kitties are gonna love all that stuff!
Psst, Sparkle, think you can slip me a coupla toys? I could, ahem, pass them to my shelter if I don’t like em or something. heh heh
Those will be great boxes going to the shelter kitties even if there will be one chewed packet of treats less.
Wow what a great big box of fun! Those shelter kitties are going to enjoy that!
Hello Sparkle! We have an award for you so please do come by and pick it up xx
Uh-oh! BInga is busted!
We bet the dog got into that bag! It is wonderful that your human is sending all those goodies to those two places! She’s an angel on earth!
I do quality control too, but you can’t do it without testing the produce!! 😉
I think you will be an excellent quality control manager!
Heeheehee!! Oh look at Miss Binga, she so totally wants those toys poor girl!
Binga’s got tortitude, all right!
I think it’s great that all that stuff will be given to temporarily less fortunate cats.
How wonderful! The publicist is having a giveaway on her blog for World’s Best Cat litter to go to a shelter.
She is also giving coupons to AniMeals here.
Shelters always need help
OK, I am a tattletail, but Parker does the same thing!!! sneaks stuff and destroys the package! Parker – bad!
Love,
the magster
I think it’s so pawsome your human is giving all that cool stuff to local shelters.
Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats! really?? what an incredibly awesome name. I think that is the first time that little selfish child voice deep inside didn’t whine “oh why aren’t those going to MY shelter”
Is it that you would never sneak treats EVER, or just that you would never sneak a treat in a way that would get you caught?
Sparkle, how nice of your FurMom to donate all those goodies to less fortunate kitties. See, your Human isn’t so bad but she is probably just as annoying as ours… Binga really beat you to the quality control of those Tuna Treats!!!
Quality control is very important. What an amazing thing you and your human are doing!
purrfect way of handling your Pets Add Life post…love it!
A cat could drown in that box of toys!
I can’t blame Binga for gettin’ into the nip. Would have done the same thing myself, I think. Maybe you can the empty boxes back, afterwards? Boxes are toys all in themselves! purrs
That is quite a haul!!!
This is going to make some shelter kitties VERY happy!
As for that ripped bag of treats…
I see nothing, I hear nothing.
; ) Katie
Ooo! Binga was exercising her “Torti Entitlement” sense in prying open that treat bag! MOL!
How nice for the shelters all this swag will go to! There are gonna be some happy kitties in your town, Sparkle! Kudos to you & your meowm!
PURRS!
Selina
how wonderful that those rescues will benefit from the conference!!! we love that your human is giving back and that you got a chance to do some quality control 🙂
The cats at the shelters are going to be so excited when they see all the toys.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Hooray! The little ones will be very happy with those gifts!
Kudos to your mom for donating all that cool stuff!
That really is terrific that the Writers Conference fixed those boxes for the shelters. I bet those kitties and doggies at the shelters are going to be so happy. Have a great day.
:))))))))))))))))) Oh My, Sparkle you are very mean :))) Poor Binga. Are you sure she managed to chew on that tuna treat by herself?
Quality controls is VERY important!
