The patio part of our backyard has some built-in planters. But I only care about one of them.
There are some of the planters. Can you see the one I am looking at?
Can you see better now?
Here it is in all its glory — my catnip garden! My human caught some wayward calico dipping into it the other day. But there is still lots there, even if it does look a little ratty and yellow around the edges.
My human cut off a lot of the flower buds because she wanted to keep the plants kind of bushy, but finally she gave up and let them bloom.
Remember the marigold seedling my human brought home a few weeks ago? It is still there, and while I can’t say it is exactly thriving, it is growing and continuing to flower. My human cut off some of the dead flower heads to keep it flowering, but she has also let some of them dry up and go to seed, so we will continue to have more.
Of course my human was not allowed to go out and photograph my nip without bringing in some cuttings.
Uh-oh, I think my nip party is about to turn into a smackfest!
Wish I had a Nip-garden !
But mom say´s I shall not complain since I have a lot of jummy green grass to chew on 🙂
Lovely Planter ~ and thanks to the planter too! 🙄
Wow, you have your own catnip plant ! We wish we had it in our garden… Let’s tell Mum !
I think it’s every human’s duty to make sure cats have plenty of catnip.
Great nip Sparkle! We hope y’all were able to share.
We can’t blame you for liking that planter best.
Lucky you Sparkle!! I gonna asks my humom for some nip right now.. 😉
Your patio is lovely and how nice you get fresh nips! I planted cat nip while back and it is growing well 🙂 Though, neither of my boys are showing interest..
Sparkle, now you know that usually I defend Binga, but this time….no. That was YOUR Nip and those introodur cats should have gone to the door and asked for their own. Just sayin’.
Enjoy your fresh nip, Sparkle…if you can. 😉
Fresh nip! You so lucky Sparkle!!

Hey, Sparkle. I got over my tantrum from yesterday. Your first photo in this series is a work of art! I just love it! had to let you know.
Sparkle my gardener aka Dad and I are in current negotiation on having catnip in one of our planters very soon.
hugs madi and thanks for the idea!!
your bfff
That’s a big planter. I’m glad you’re enjoying the catnip. It looks nice and fresh.
You are a lucky kitty to have a PLANTER full of ‘nip!
lovely Planter Sparkle,xx Speedy and mum
Oh no, not the smackles. Our nip plant outside gets all its attention from the outside cats. But yours is looking good. Ours is blooming too. Take care.
What a glorious nip plant! TW always heard that if you let a herb fower, it would kill the plant. I don’t have to worry about my pathetic nip plant flowering but she’s always cutting flowers off her basil plant.
Oh that would be any self-respecting cat’s favorite planter – full of nip? I’d say it needs a full-time guard!
Kitty Hugs, Sam
That is a gigantic nip plant. We have two that if combined are probably that big. If we are on the catio, we can go to the deck above and indulge in it whenever we want. For some reason we don’t. We have so many birds and squirrels to watch, we just can’t tear ourselves away to enjoy the nip. Hope not too much smacking occurred after you all imbibed. Don’t know why our mom didn’t do today’s photo hunt. We have oodles of planters. Lame as always…no other excuses. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
Come on Sparkle, there has to be enough for Bodie to share with you. Thank Cod, I don’t care for the nip…so we don’t grow it here. Nice planters…think we would have some Petunias in there! Paw hugs, Savannah
you have a BEAUTIFUL patio and your nip looks divine!!
You are so lucky to have fresh nip Sparkle. Your garden looks wonderful.
Whoo hoo have fun with the nip!
How lucky you are to have this fresh catnip! I too want my own catnip garden so I will give my human her marching orders this very weekend! Meow and Namaste! ~ Pippy the Feline Yogini
I think we remember when you first got your nip plant last year. It has really worked out well in that planter. And Mom was reading that both nip and marigolds are good at repelling mosquitos, so that is a bonus! Maybe you don’t have mosquitos there but we do get some here.
Your nip plant looks a lot better than ours.

Sparkle you are so lucky to have your own planter full of nip – do you share it with Boodie and Binga?
