I have a secret to divulge! The plaster and paint job on the turret is rather fragile, and it has crumbled and been patched over a couple of times. The only thing is my human has never found someone to paint the patches. So for years now, every time she photographs me on the turret stairs, she has had to Photoshop over the patches. Here’s what they look like without the retouching. But finally she found someone to fix these unsightly patches!
The best part is I got to be the painter’s assistant! That’s because the woman who was doing the work loves kitties and unlike the painters that have been here before, she doesn’t have to go in and out of the house constantly. So my human let me hang around.
I could supervise the painter all I wanted, and never got shooed away. Which is a good thing because this kind of detail work needs a lot of inspection.
Can you believe I did all this work and I did not even get a drop of paint on me? Which proves that I am a pro.
And here it is finished — no Photoshop necessary!
My human is going to have the carpet pulled up, and replaced with finished wood stairs. When that happens, the painter will come back to completely refresh the turret paint because there are still areas that need work. But we’re good for now!

Did you get to wear a painters coverall?? LOL!
I guess not…as I didn’t see you in one when you had your face in the painter’s equipment! I bet you gave her plenty of advice??
Looks good. I’m sure it’s even better than it would have
been without your help.
Good job Summer. It looks amazing
We wouldn’t mind painting as much as we do if we had a great assistant like you, Summer!
Remaining paint free is amazing! You really are a pro at everything you do.
You are a great helper. 🙂
The only time I’ve ever bathed my kitty was when Maine Coon Suzy (at 9 weeks old) charged my paint-container, knocked it over, tracked white paint all around and got lots on her underside. It eventually all grew out, but she had a few dred-locks until then which I cut off. I see not one drop on you Summer Samba. XXXX
What a wonderful assistant you are Summer!
Of course you’re a pro, Summer! In everything you do.
You are the best assistant!!!
How cool that you got painters that do not mind working with you!!!
The turret looks pawsome. Now you can pose anywhere on those stairs
without touch ups!
Purrs, Julie
The painter was very lucky to have you as an assistant.
