I see that a number of cats around the internet are posting in celebration of the outstretched paw. Well, that outstretched paw can be a serious matter. For example, here I am using mine to approve an invoice that I received for legal services. Yes, it was addressed to me, since it involved the contract for my new book, out in August! I did not pay it myself, however — I handed it over to my human to take care of.
I wish the other cats here took the outstretched paw more seriously. Binga just uses it to goof off, and that’s not right.
And then there’s Boodie. Boodie doesn’t even know which paw to use.
Do you have a post in celebration of the outstretched paw? Make sure to comment, and include the link if you do!
That’s wonderful you have a book coming out! Very impressive!! We would like to read it and get your advice on things. We never heard of outstretched paw celebration but will look into it.
Wow, I never knew! Did you see Bella’s outstretched paw pic? http://catloverssite.info/2010/05/12/wordless-wednesday-where-is-that-other-leg/
I’m sure there’s much meaning behind it, but being a human, I’m not getting it. Need kitty help.
Disco likes to paw my pant legs, like a dog, in greeting. Of course, that’s hard for me to take a photo of, but I’ll try!
All around cute! I especially liked Binga’s shot.
Boodie cracks me up. 🙂
That outstretched paw spells authority, I like it!
Thanks for visiting and backing me up. A kitty definitely needs furriends in time like this.
Fin is also a kitty author and has a book hot off the press. Maybe you two should consider starting an elite kitty author club.
Haaaa! Boodie’s picture cracked me up. Well done, Boodie. Well done. 😉
What lovely paws you have too! Concats on the new book!!
We’re sorry that Boodie and Binga don’t take the outstretched paw as seriously as you do but they did make us laugh!
heehee…we think Boodie’s outstretched paw is adorable.
They are lovely paw pics.. Brilliant.. HUgs GJ xx
My humans don’t have any pics, but I love to stick one hind leg straight out the back when I am lying down. My humans say that it looks unnatural, but they’re not very flexible so I think they’re the unnatural ones.
Cassie uses the outstretched paw technique superbly. I have a pic of her in a talented two-paw outstretch.
We use the outstretched paw for many things, but we think Boodie’s interpretation is great!
We do not know about the out stretched paw idea. We will have to try to get a picture before we can make a post. We will work on an outstretched paw. Good idea.
@Britt Thanks for your effort, but don’t worry, I speak English.
You really do know how to rock that paw, Sparkle.
My kitties use the outstretched paw to stay in touch with me – just barely touching me – I guess they want to let me know they love me.
Sometimes we do the outstretched paw and then if the nail clippers come out we retract the paw as quickly as possible.
Row. Mew mew meow. Row meow.
Good paw action! I learned that I get treats when I do High Five, so I do it all the time now.
Haha! Sparkle, you’re the only one that puts your outstretched paw to good use! Congrats on the new book!
They are all good pictures, but Boodie is a winner!!
