Happy National Bow Tie Day! I don’t have as many bow ties as I do the other kind of tie (more on that in another post). But I wanted to model a couple that I have. This is one from the human at the 15 and Meowing blog. She’s so nice and generous to everyone! A while back she sent me three ties, and this one is my favorite.
This one is my Candy Striper bow tie, that I wear on my therapy cat visits sometimes. I guess only older people know that teen hospital volunteers used to be called Candy Stripers. That was because they had red and white striped pinafores as their uniform. They don’t wear those anymore, partly because both boys and girls can volunteer at hospitals now.
Did you know that there is a proper way to model a bow tie? Let me show you.
Bow ties are a little bit formal and also kind of show business-y at the same time. So you can wear them at formal affairs, or if you are an entertainer or a magician. Like here, I am ringing my bell to entertain you, so a bow tie is appropriate here.
Never, ever goof around in a bow tie. That is bad form!
Making funny faces while wearing a bow tie will make people think you are a member of the Three Stooges or something!
If you go somewhere fancy, and start goofing off, you will probably get kicked out. A bow tie will not save you.
In case you are wondering how my human got me to goof off, now you know!
