When my human stopped by Joann Fabrics a few weeks ago, she saw this sign on the front door. So she decided the next time she needed to go, she would bring me. Which was yesterday.
I was happy to get out of the house… but I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do there!
I spent about 15 minutes walking aimlessly up and down the store aisles. My human let me because she wasn’t really shopping for anything. She was just picking something up at the front counter.
I kept looking around for where they were hiding all the good stuff. You know, the catnip and treats. But there didn’t seem to be any.
The store was huge! But it was full of boring stuff like fabrics, and things to put on walls, and the sort of doo-dads that my human uses to hold together the hats she gets me from Party City.
Plus only a few people looked at me, and nobody really made a big deal out of me except for the cashier when we checked out. “This is the first time I’ve ever seen a cat here!” he said.
Consider me a dissatisfied customer!

Try Home Depot next time. 🙂
So surprised Summer. If I saw you, I’d be gushing over you. Soon there will be a trip to the perfect store again
Pet store that is mol
Mum likes JoAnn’s, she gets yarn there when she needs it. I wouldn’t want to hang out there either.
Summer…good that you went to another type of store and you never know what good may come from going.
Yeah, we agree, Summer! JoAnn is not as fun as the pet store!
We can’t believe that you did not get into the notions department! That’s where the dingly ball thingies are! (or at least they are in Fanny’s in the Great White North).
Nice of the store to be “pet friendly” and looks like you had fun!
Sometimes my wife brings me to Joanne’s and I walk aimlessly up and down the isles too. 🙂
We would have tested out many of the fabrics for good clawing. But that is why YOU were welcome there and we probably wouldnt be. MOL!
You are used to resisting such temptations.
There are usually a bunch of cat fabrics. Aunt Wanda made TW and bunch of cute cloth masks. Plus the blankies look soft enough the make biscuits and lay on. Summer, you weren’t even trying!
Mudpie would’ve looked at all that fabric as potential blankies!
Well, maybe next time someone could make you a catnip toy and hide it, so you can have a treasure hunt in there!
Dearest Summer,
Wow, you walk there like a cute little human/kitty.
So smart and with such a sweet face.
Never mind you didn’t find anything there.
Hugs,
Mariette
Who knew? It was worth a try. Now you know. I certainly would have made a fuss over you if I met you at Joann’s. At least you made an impression on the check-out guy and me.
I had no idea that Joann’s was pet-friendly. It doesn’t look like a very fun place for kitties, though. No toys, food, or catnip.
I was in a Joann’s yesterday. It sure would have been fin to see you in there. 🙂
I would just be excited to be able to bring my kitties in! I guess we’ll have to see if the Joann’s near Betsy’s house is pet friendly. We need some new cage curtains anyway.
Well no catnip is kind of a deal breaker sweet Summer!
Summer, I would be over the moon to find a cat in any store that I visit!
How cool that JoAnn Fabrics is pet friendly! Another fun visit for you!
WE simply cannot believe that every single person in that store did not make a huge fuss over you, Summer! What is wrong with them?
Purrs,
Tama and Benny
Not an interesting shop for you, but it is good to visit somewhere different.
Gee! If there was anything there for cats, it would probably need to be sewn together.
Not the most exciting store for a cat. At least it was another outing for you.
Purrs, Julie
Nothing to see here folks. Move along. (Seems
like you would be saying that about the store.)
But you look good walking up and down the aisles.
