I’m going to have to start off with an apology for the quality of the photos. It was dark inside, light outside, and the glass was pretty dirty. But they were still too much fun not to share! So check it out — I got my very own window lizard friend!
I’ve always envied my cat pals in Florida, who often seem to get visits from lizards clinging to the other side of the window. And even though we have lizards here, that never seems to happen for me! Until today.
It was really cool! And it didn’t seem to be scared of me at all.
According to my human it is an alligator lizard. She says they are mean and bite hard! Apparently she knows this from experience.
It hung out for the longest time, which was really fun!
My human thought it was like we were communicating with each other. Well, duh, we were.
Unfortunately, no matter how cute I looked, my human wouldn’t bring the lizard to me. And she wouldn’t take me out to see it either. She said she didn’t want me getting bit on the nose. Like that would have ever happened!

Her face in that last pic! Like she was saying “Get the air fryer! There’s a wild nugget outside.”
What a cool Window Lizard. Sounds like you had fun. I’m glad there was glass between you both because you would not have enjoyed being bitten. Ouch.
We are so glad you got to meet a new friend. You never know you may find him outside
Well if that’s the kind of lizard that BITES then maybe it wouldn’t be a good playmate!
Hugs, Teddy
I am glad you finally got your own window lizard, and had such a good time with it. They are interesting little critters, but your human is right this kind of lizard would not make a good playmate. They are aggressive and mean. If one of them got hold of your nose you would have more that a nose freckle show in your pictures. Caution is a good thing in this case.
I think the lizard is kind of cute but I agree with your human, best to stay away from it. and you look pretty cute yourself in the pictures, Summer!
That last pic looks like you’re saying “can we keep it?”. I think it’s feet are ugly. A lizard at the window is better than that bear.
Did it try to sell you insurance? MOL!
We have a state lizard–the New Mexico whiptail. One came up on the balcony once but we haven’t seen another since. We thought she was kinda cute (whiptails are all girls) but we guess she wasn’t impressed with us.
Sorry Summer, I agree with your human. We would not want that pretty face hurt. It was fun from between the window. Your hunting instincts were challenged. The grass or in this case, the lizard isn’t always greener on the other side MOL
He’s so cute! I think you were safer chatting from behind the glass though.
Your little friend is sure cute and it would be fun to watch sweet Summer!
I am glad your human kept you away-better to enjoy from a distance. 🙂
No way! You got your very own lizard friend? We have lizards outside sometimes, but our Outside Cat, Phantom, doesn’t share. She is a Mighty Hunter and sometimes brings them in her mouth to the screen door to show our mom, but then she lets them go in the grass.
Yikes. We’d literally move if we saw that in our yard.
That is so cool!! We often see the kitties in FL talking about their lizards, so this was fun to see!
Maybe that lizard was hoping to see what it would be like
to bite a kitty…….like you! It’s probably best not to find out.
Of course, he might be waiting for you next time you go
out.
We don’t have lizards around here. I think that one would be fun to play with.
That lizard has a mean look and jaws like an alligator. But I think you would be a match for it.
Summer, that was a wonderful surprise! Maybe for your birthday she can arrange for another visit?
That is a big lizard! Maybe your human was afraid you might bite him on the nose too.
What a wonderful little adventure for you! <3
We don’t care about the quality of the photos. They are wonderful!!! That is such a cute lizard!

WOW! That is a really cool lizard!
We do not have that critter here. My mum would not bring him indoors either.
Humans…sheesh!
