If you remember the last photo from yesterday’s post, I had my front paws in the treat bucket. That is actually a hard thing for lots of kitties to do! It does not feel natural at all. In fact, the only way I would put my paws in that bucket was with a quick training session. (I’ve also done it with an empty food bowl, for an ad — more on that in a future post.) Can you guess how my human started me off?
With a treat of course! Around here it’s not “trick or treat,” it’s tricks for treats!
She let me play around the treat bucket for a while, because these sessions should always be fun. But she also made it clear that I would get treats when I put my paws in the bucket.
So I did! It didn’t take too long, since I’ve done paw placement poses before. And my human never asks me to do it for very long because it is not the most comfortable thing to do. But really, I am happy to pose.
So there is my treat bucket trick! I have lots of fun learning to do these simple things for photos.
It’s late in the season for this, but I did put the photo on a notebook and card!

Summer…you can about do anything! Seriously. Not just saying.
pawsome, Summer! we enjoy reading about how you learn your tricks. for all of the clicker and trick training our mom did with wriggley, she hasn’t done much with us. hopefully you will inspire her 🙂 the picture looks great on the card and notebook.

You’re our Treat Summer,xx Speedy
You never cease to amaze us with your intelligence.
So cute, and so smart! Tricks for treats sound awesome to us, Summer!
You look great as always Summer. Mom is always so impressed that your Mom actually stages and trains you for your photographs. Our Mom is way to lazy to do all that work.
That’s an amazing card and pic. I had to do that AND pick a winner out of the treat bucket for a giveaway a few years back. It was hard.
I wondered how you did that! Your human is so smart…and so are you!
That is a beautiful pose, you and your Mom are very talented.
Sounds like tricks for treats worked purrfectly for the photo 🙂 Your human makes all the experiences fun for you and you learn very quickly! Great photos, Summer!
That is PAWSOME! You are SO talented!!!
Purrz!

That is a great trick and that is a cute card. I recently purchased a travel mug with a photo of you in your spring dress. I got it for my mom (Grammie), she is a big fan of yours.
We are always amazed with your ability to learn new tricks, Summer. Now, THAT’S a treat!
You are so clever, Summer! Love that pose!
Wonder if I, Pipo would do that?? Unlikely, MOL!
Maybe one of the pups around here…though neither is too tricky…like MJF was…oh well! MOL!
Summer, you are quite the “trickster.” We like the photo where you are reaching over the bucket. But, of course, you are adorable in all of them. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
That’s a really tricky stance. Great job learning it Summer. You and your mom are so cleaver with your photo shoots. We almost missed this post. It’s only under the “Diary” Section of your website and not the “Home”. Thankfully mom saw it on FB 1st and then looked for it. Great pics hon. Purrs
Amazing!!
Bodacious
You really done good sweet Summer!!!
As always, you’re amazing!

You are such a smart cat. And so cooperative. But now I’m intrigued…. About that food ad…
You are so smart and clever…………your Human knows just how to get you to do just about ANYTHING!
Hugs, Teddy
Oh Summer, you are a talented one, and your “trainer” must be incredibly patient. I cannot imagine mom or dad having the patience to train (ha ha ha) me to do anything I don’t feel like learning.
I know the treats help, but you are so quick to learn new tricks!
You never cease to amaze, sweet Summer!
Oh wow that’s amazing. I am sure none of ours would succeed at doing that trick.
