My Favorite Bird Watching Spot

May 27, 2020 By: Summer Samba33 Comments

This is Summer's favorite bird watching spot when she's outside.

One of my favorite things to do when I’m outside around the house is watch birdies! You want to see my favorite bird watching spot? You’ve seen me there before, but I don’t know whether you know it’s my favorite.

It’s right here, on this ledge. I can look over at the neighbor’s, where there is a bird feeder. In fact, there are birdies out here right now!

It also has a view of the street, if you look past the side of the house.

somali cat stretching on ledge

Sometimes I’ll have a good stretch while I’m up here.

For some reason, my human doesn’t like it when I’m up here, though. Can you believe it?

I don’t think it’s that far up, do you?

What a good cat, walking with a leash. If I try with my cats, they’ll murder me for sure. Some cats are polite, and some are wild, like mine.

Beautiful cat with absolutely HUGE eyes and a focused stare, completely fascinated.

Yeah, many cats have a favorite spot, and watching birds is the feline version of TV. My brother’s cat always chirps at the birds from her spot on the sofa near the window.

Yikes Summer! That looks really high up. We like it! Our mom on the other hand is not so much liking it. Ever since Sir Morton fell from the banister mom freaks out when any of us jump up there. Mortie is a little clumsy. But us girls are acrocats, MOL. You be careful now. Mom also says stretching is growing, she’s funny. Love the birdies, stretching and outdoors. Great pics! Purrs

My favorite bird-watching spot is higher than that. It’s the 4th floor window and all the floors are about 16 ft high. Plis we’re on the top of a big, tall cliff that I can see below.

My kitties, Maggie and Snickers like to watch the birdies, too. My Snickers likes to talk to them through the window. She is a main coon and can be quite a talker!

Oh my Summer no wonder your mommy worries. That does seem pretty high even though you have excellent balance. I’ll let you in on a little secret about cat mommies- we will always worry about our babies no matter what. It’s what we do.

I can see why your human doesn’t like you to be up
there – it’s too high and unsafe. You do look good
up there however. I’m curious about what kinds
of birds you see out there.

Humans are worriers.Probably because they do hot have excellent balance like we cats do 😉
From our porch with the windows open we can hear the birds and squirrels. Sadly, there are screens in the windows :/

Love the spot. Humans worry. But there are a lot of cats that fall from high places and get hurt. So be careful. Unlike the birds you watch, you can not fly.

It sure does look like you have quite the spot there, dear girl. I’m fortunate to have my deck out back, with a tree line right off of that. Those trees are always filled with birds of all kinds, squirrels, and even small people sometimes.
