MehCat Monday

July 25, 2011 By: Sparkle Cat42 Comments

My human came back from her trip and she said she brought us “gifts.” To me, they look like random things she bought at some Phoenix airport store.

Yes, I am looking at her accusingly.

In fact, I don’t think the first thing is a gift for us at all! We like catching bugs with our bare paws. And eating them. I think my human got it to rescue bugs from us! So that is definitely a bad gift!

I hope she isn't planning on catching and eating the bugs herself.

The second thing was some bug with a leaf catapult. She swore we would like it.

At least we are all 5 and up.

I am not expecting big things from this.

She demonstrated it for us.

Can’t see the video above? Click here to watch on YouTube.

I guess that is all it does.

I am waiting for something exciting to happen. And waiting.

Binga thought it was cool. For a split second.

Then she found out it was not edible.

They need to have pet stores at airports so that guilty humans can bring home decent cat toys.

This one was a Cat Toy Fail.

Our mom thought the toys were fantastic! She loved the bug biter and amazing catapult leaf. But then what would she know, being only a meager two legs!!

LOL! Jake would LOVE that crazy wall crawler bug! But then, he’s a boycat.
    Still…that’s right up his alley.

(I of course make a point to go to pet stores when on vacation for my kitties…)

Lame-o “gifts”. I see the previous commenter said it was the “thought” that counted. Well, in that case your Human gets a great big giant GOOSE EGG cause I don’t think she thought at all! Sheesh. Somebody’s pillow needs poopin’ on. Just sayin.

Sparkle, I agree that it would e a good idea for airports to have shoppes that sold suitable gifts for humans to bring home for their pets. But I do have to say, my humans never bring me gifts back from trips at all. So at some level your human at least tried.

Yes, I agree that these aren’t really cat toys. They were probably packaged as such to fool silly humans.

I do thing that bug flinger is pretty darn funny, though. I love the smacking sound it makes as it hits the wall.

One thing they do not take into consideration is that a cat toy is not very interesting if it doesn’t move.

Cat toys are NOT plastic! Well, there is that one plastic ball with a bell inside; thats OK ta bat a little bit. But ya have our sympathies on those ones Mom brought home.

About yer comment… We USED ta have mousies come in the house in Fall. They would ALWAYS find the hole in the wall where the big oven wire came through to the kitchen. TBT never sealed the hole cuz they allus found it an it was a safe predictable place fer mousetraps unner the oven (where no cat could get smapped). Iza an I (an Skeeter and LC before) would wait ta hear the SNAP! TBT would allus go right over an give us the mouse! But none fer 2 years now. We are very sad about that…

Sparkle this is the second time I have witnessed some “strange” things your Mom has brought home for you, it is as if she raids Dollar Stores and frankly I find this behavior for someone who TRULY KNOWS kitties like your Mommy does, rather strange and inexcusable. I agree with you a zillion percent. Could it be that your Mom has lost her senses?

I know she means well but I agree with you, the woman needs to get a clue

Sparkle in order to avoid future cat toy fails you should convince her to buy you a treat instead of a toy. The airport sells food so maybe mewyu about canned tuna?

LOL—love your words of wisdom,Sparkle! My 8 kitties kill or TRY to find and kill any/all bugs they find! Yesterday they were intrigued with a moth of some sort in between the window glass and screen! they cared more about IT than all the birds on the lawn eating the bread I threw out for them (*so my cats have fun watching birds!)…I agree—a pet kiosk would be a really COOL idea—they could make a ton!
