Back in December, a small business called Beyond Cat Store contacted me on Instagram and offered to let me have anything in their online shop free of charge, and no obligation! The banana boat cat bed looked cool, so I asked for that. It arrived on Christmas Eve. Once my human opened the package, however, there was one problem.
It was a little too small!
Okay, it was totally too small. I later found out that it was mostly a kitten bed. In case you are wondering, the dimensions are 21″x8″x6″.
At first I was a little flummoxed about the bed being too small for me to curl up in.
But guess what? I found the perfect use for it! When my human pulls out my interactive cat toys, this is where I put them after I catch them! The first time I did that, she thought it was just a one-off sort of thing. In fact, she thought it was funny because it was so untypically cat-like of me. But I actually do it pretty often! It’s part of the game now.
Even though I can’t sleep in it, I still love my banana boat cat bed! I play with it and make up my own games with it. So I’m happy the Beyond Cat Store humans offered it to me!

We were wondering about this bed. Ou4 mom was going to buy it, but it’s a good thing she didn’t!
That is a small bed so for our house would not work but glad to see you figured it out Summer
That must be small if you don’t fit in it. Whoa! Be thankful that it doesn’t smell like a banana. Those are nasty.
That’s too bad Summer. You’re a wee one. Guess they should have been more specific. Toy box works
Summer, that IS a good use for it and you yourself thought of it!
“Come Miss Tally Cat, tally me banana!”
MOL xoxo
That made me smile!
It even looks like you could sleep on top of it and still be comfy. It’s nice you are having fun with it.
You’re such a creative kitty and the bed is just adorable!
Hmm, I wonder if Sweetie would fit in your banana boat beddy, Summer…she’s tiny!
That is cute. I would fill it with nip and turn it into a giant nip nanner. 🙂
We’re glad you found a use for the banana boat, even though it’s too small to sleep in! The manufacturers have a strange idea of the size of a cat!

Tama and Genji
Wow, that Banana Boat is so cool! Too bad it was too small for you but excellent you found a use for it. You have also done an excellent job modeling this Banana ~ Bravo!
ooopps!! Guess they didn’t think to measure an adult cat, right? Glad you got creative with using it Summer
If any kitten friends come to visit maybe they can
use it. Otherwise, using if for storage is a good idea.
Clever kitty!
That would have been a nice one if it had grown a little more!
What a perfect use for your new bed!
That bed is cute, and it makes a fun toy box too. You’re such a smart kitty to find a new use for it.
Hi Summer! That bed looks terrific and FUN! And you have found the terrific and FUN in it! You are such a smart cat! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
Awww, and you are not even a big kitty!!
Your playtime fun with it is a great repurposing of that big banana! MOL!
That is so cute!! Glad you still found a use for it.
I’m glad you found a use for that bed, Summer. It could have been really cool if it was bigger. ~Ernie
It looked so comfy too
That looks like a lovely bed so it is a pity it is too small. It would have been ideal for Kit as she was tiny at between 5 and 6 pounds. I am glad you have found the way you want to use it though.
That would be a nice bed for Rosie she is very small for an adult cat and often people think she is a teenager and will still grow, but I think even for her the bed would be a bit small. I like the idea to sleep in a banana and for Rosie it would fit perfectly to her fur !
That is a pretty cool bed.Too bad it is too small.
You have found the purrfect use for it though 😉
