I didn’t know that St. Louis was so far away! Apparently, it usually isn’t, except we had some flight rescheduling. Originally we were supposed to stop over in Las Vegas, then head for St. Louis. But my human got a text that our first flight was delayed for so long that we would have missed our connecting flight. So they changed our flights completely. That is why I am sitting at the Dallas/ Ft. Worth airport, watching planes come and go.
Maybe it was meant to be because I met a lot of really nice humans on this route! On the first flight we sat next to a couple, and the woman almost exploded with joy that she got to sit next to me! She loves kitties and enjoyed telling my human all about her cat, and the other one that just passed away. She was also a little fearful of flying, and towards the end, the flight got a little bumpy. I complained about that too… and I think it distracted her a little.
Another woman came up and wanted to pet me while we were waiting for our next flight, and of course my human said okay! That was fun.
I also got to visit with the kitty in the window. Then our flight started boarding. It didn’t go directly to St. Louis. It stopped for a half an hour in Little Rock, Arkansas… not long enough for us to get off the plane, which was a bummer. Then finally we got to St. Louis, an hour or so after we were supposed to.
The second leg of that flight was cool though. The two women next to my human struck up a conversation, even though they were strangers. My human just listened mostly because she didn’t have anything to add. Then they realized that I was under the seat in front of my human (I must have meowed or something) and they were all excited! So I made some new friends again.
Anyhow, I was so relieved when we got to baggage claim, and I could get out of that carrier again. A couple more people wanted to visit with me, which I enjoyed. Sadly, our suitcase arrived and we had to leave for the rental car place, and my human had to put me back in the carrier. Our hotel was about 40 miles from the airport.
That was a long travel day! Fortunately, this bed is nice and comfy.
