La Vie en Rose

February 15, 2011 By: Sparkle Cat29 Comments

Even though my human’s boyfriend is on tour in Europe right now, he still remembered to send her Valentine’s Day roses (one of the few for-sure nontoxic-to-cats flowers). Thinking she was being generous, my human offered to share them with us cats. They made Boodie sneeze — maybe she is allergic.

But then, I think Boodie is allergic to anything that does not involve eating, sleeping or playing.

Binga was not impressed. She wanted cat treats.

This does not look like freeze dried liver!

I thought they were cat treats.

And not very good cat treats at that.

MeWowZa…flowers for everyone—cat and human alike! Great idea and roses is all Teri will have in the house, too…

Yes, always hold out for the treats. That was nice of your mom’s boyfriend to remember to send roses. But where was the nip? Yep, he needs to stay in your good graces too. 🙂

Oh Sparkle, we can’t keep flowers around here because Saffy REALLY likes hers greens. And then we see the greens again…except they look all squishy and stain the carpet.

Oh yes, Sparkle, I love green things too! When Marmie brings collard greens home from the Farmer’s Market, I’m all over them! How sweet of your mom’s b/f to give her flowers. 🙂

We can’t haz flowers or anything unless my Human locks them up in bathroom or puts them on top of the china cabinet where they don’t look very nice. Sorry, Human, live without ’em. And if they DO come in the house, they are mine to scatter and/or consume.

Haha! Great pictures. Melly got at my roses – the little nutjob shredded one of them almost completely!

LOL! You are hilarious, Sparkle! You’re like my Dylan who thinks everything even slightly edible is a treat.

Your Mom’s boyfriend is very thoughtful to send flowers from so far away. And they did double duty as photo props, too!

Those are pretty roses but they don’t look too tasty unless you are a goat!

Boodie and Binga look so cute with the rose. Our dad sent mum roses for Valentines Day a couple of years ago. I ate them. He hasn’t sent flowers again. Ooops.

P.S. Our mum has been reading a blog that she thought you and your human might be interested in. It is Savingpets.com.au. The lady who rights it is one of the founders of PetRescue- Australia’s PetFinder. She does a lot of statistical analysis of the laws and regulations that are being passed supposedly to protect cats, such as mandatory desexing and registration and the results are really interesting. It’s made mum think about things in quite a different way.

The boys would have demolished those roses in a few minutes…. HH received one rose and it’s in the spare room. She goes in to visit it now and then.

We woulda put the bitey on those flowers too, Sparkle. That’s why our mom rarely has live flowers in our house. What a shame!!

I like munching on leaves of flowers too! We don’t get them too often because of that, but when my mommey’s dad died, we had a huge arrangement of roses!

MOL, Sparkle. I don’t eat the flowers or their leaves, but I LOVE to munch on the babies breath and fern-like greenery that comes with the roses. So my Mom always has to lock her flowers in the powder room overnight.

Only humans can invent such a stupid idea ! At least the rose should be handed over by a mousie !
