So here I am, ready to announce who gets to borrow my human’s Kindle version of Dear Sparkle: Advice from One Cat to Another.
In spite of all the hype, eReading is still a young-ish technology and I was not expecting a whole lot of you to enter this drawing. And I was right: just four of you asked to be entered. But that was more than enough. My human went to random.org and here is the winner:
Rufus the Cat!
Concatulations, Rufus! My human will be emailing you with the details. Here is what you might want to know about how to accept the digital copy of the book my human is lending you.
One thing I discovered about the Kindle: it has a text-to-voice function. So my human decided to turn it on and see how I felt about my words being spoken by computerized human voices. She even filmed it and added my thoughts as I listened:
If you can’t see the above video, click here.
As you can see, I was not impressed.
Whoa! You sound like a space alien! Thought your comments were great.
Concats to Rufus! Our mom is still in the dark ages. She just recently got a Zune. That means it’ll probably be another 6 or 7 years until she gets an e-reader. Lame.
Oh Sparkle. That was just SAD. What is up with the Humans and their idea of “progress.” As if.
You looked very underwhelmed in your video, Sparkle! My mama would have entered but she has a nook.
Concats to Rufus! My human bean was behind in visiting so she furgot to enter me.
You did not look happy with your book being narated, Sparkle!
Concat to Rufus!

Sparkle, we bet your voice is way prettier than that one! We liked seeing you and Binga on video though and seeing your thoughts!
Oh Sparkle, I think you book sounds great even if you are unimpressed!!!! I don’t have Kindle or I sould have definitely entered 🙂 Congratulations to Rufus!
Sparkle, you’re right, you don’t sound anything like that voice! Congrats to Rufus!
Hi Sparkle,
I did want to enter, but me has an iPad 🙁
Me loved the video! Yous was just so excited!
kisses
Nellie
There is actually a Kindle app for iPad – and the great thing about the iPad app is that you can see the photos in my book in color!
Concatulations to Rufus! We hope you enjoy it.
Hi Sparkle! Congrats to the winners! We would have entered but mom is so behind we didn’t have a chance – we dont’ have a kindle but we have kindle for our phone and computer – not that mom has bought anything for it yet – she only downloads the free stuff.
Hooray Rufus! Oops, I still need to get the Kindle version, but been a wee busy…but I won’t forget!
Congratulations to Rufus… however for the rest of us, one has to consider that we can’t even win against only four?! 🙂
Ah well, I shall have to get the Woman to spend some of the money she makes off of the website she is designing on your book (in the Kindle edition!)
The publicist would have loved your book but she has a nook, not a kindle so she could not enter.
She did not want you to think she did not want your book!
Yeah, I won! I won! Mom and I are so excited, Sparkle! (Since I have yet to master the art of reading, Mom will read your book out loud to me. I certainly hope she sounds better than those strange voices.)
Congrats to Rufus! Sparkle, you definitely do not look impressed.
That text to voice function of the Kindle sounds like it could be a real help to people with visual impairments. Technology is wonderful.
I loved seeing your thoughts on the matter and silly mom was enjoying watching your sides go up and down as you were breathing! There is no accounting what fascinates that woman! Sheesh!
he he- I don’t think i’d be any more impressed than you were. Mom’s voice is so much better than the Kindle man’s.
I think they should have you read it in your own voice, Sparkle…
pawhugs, Max
Well I hate to say this, but that is kind of funny. I don’t think we would enjoy that voice thing. Especially the answer. But I guess it would be good if you wanted to listed to something driving down the road. Love the expression on your face. Take care.
