My human found someone in the enclosed patio and thought I would like to be friends with her. Her first name is Katy and her last name is Did. I think that is a very strange name! But when my human brought me out to meet her, I was not that impressed! So she put Katy into a plastic container and took the both of us outside so we could get to know each other better.
I tried to say hello, but I think she was ignoring me. My human thought we might have a better meeting if she uncovered the container.
Katy still didn’t pay much attention to me. I was starting to get a complex.
I offered to shake hands, but she refused.
Next, I tried touching noses with Katy. That’s how we kitties greet each other. I thought maybe it would work with her.
Well, it didn’t work! She jumped really hard and kicked my face! Somebody needs to teach her some manners.
Finally my human shook her out of the container, and she just stood there like a diva.
I decided to give her one last chance to make friends, and you know what she did?
She flew off!
Can you see where she landed? My human took a closer photo too.
Right after my human took this photo, she flew away. Maybe to throw shade on another kitty.
In case you wanted to see a really close-up photo of Katy, my human took one while I was still trying to get to know her. If you know anything about these critters, you will be able to see that she is definitely a female.
You were pretty nice to Ms. Did….she just wasn’t in a social mood. XXXX
Eww…
Too bad Katy didn’t understand you just wanted to play Summer.
Hmmph. What a rude little animal Katy is, Summer. Imagine her not reciprocating your friendly overtures!
How rude to kick you in the face – she must not know how friendly you are!!
Kady doesn’t know what a wonderful friend she’s missing out on.
It’s hard to make friends with an insect, but good for you for making an effort! 🙂
You’re so lucky you get to explore cool things and make friends like Katy. Our mom would just freak out and yell for her boyfriend to do something with it. She’s no fun.
OMC!!!
Pipo or dog-guy would have put our paw on Miss Katy Did right way! You are very patient in your curiosity!
Katy is not a furiendly bug, so be it.
Katy’s lucky you didn’t bite her head off , Summer! ;p
the critters in the cottage xo
Don’t worry, Summer, I bet you will be HEARING from her later in the season ! About six weeks before the first frost…
Hmm… that was rude of Katy Did to fly off just like that! I think a good bat with the paw & a crunch with your teeth will take care of her for good. Just careful ’cause her legs might be a bit scratchy going down the throat, but otherwise probably a tasty treat!
You should have eaten her! That would show her! She ain’t gonna get a mate with that ‘tude.
Pretty stuck on herself, isn’t she? You’re such a gentle kitty, Summer. Mudpie would’ve batted her brains out MOL!
Bugs are quite rude by nature – and terribly anti-social. We always try to make friends if one is in our apartment but it never seems to go very well. Oh well.
Purrz!
Selina
Who in their right minds would not love you, Summer?!?!?! I suppose she won’t be joining your fan club either!
How rude! This visitor does not have manners right Summer?
Are you sure she wasn’t a KatyDidn’t?
That Katy Did, was very lucky it was you Summer trying to make friends with her. We would have had a good chase with that one. But a nice meeting for you even though Katy Did was rude to you.
Summer, it’s always a good thing to meet new people, even when they are insects!
That was sweet of you not to teach her some manners. Don’t worry, you are way cuter.
Oh no she didn’t! I wonder what the kitties here would do if they met Katie. I think you were amazingly polite, Summer. She probably doesn’t realize how lucky she is!
What a rude bug! You offered the nose and paw of friendship and she kicked you??? Well! Unacceptable!
Hugs, Teddy
I wonder if you made her a bit jumpy.
Oh my, how rude of her to kick your face! If Goro met her, she would end up in his mouth in a second!
BIG BUG run for your life….
We had one of these on the catio last year or the year before…we don’t remember. We all gathered round and just stared and stared. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Was she a tortie ?
Bugs aren’t very bright, best to ignore them. (Such fun fotos!)
You were very patient with that critter. We might not have been so delicate as you. Everything is a play toy for us. And that Katy Did creature was very rude indeed. How in the world did you know it was a “she”? Your mom is impressive! Great job with the catch and release. Besides, you have Binga to play with, MOL. Purrs
thanks for sharing all that katy do’s.
We think Katy was rude to not want to be friends with you, Summer. She’s lucky you didn’t squish her. 🙂
I will tell you what! Tell Katy Did as she leaves— that you are sending a note to the Katy Did Leader and refusing future visits and contacts until there are some lessons in proper decorum when visiting other domains…such as yours!
Katy Did is very rude! You were just trying to be nice
Oh Katy “did” not…
Oh summer… Sorry the play date was a bust…
Well pretty Summer, did she do anything or was she just full of didn’t dos?
Aw, so sorry you didn’t get to taste.. I mean, get to make a friend! Maybe next time! (I’d make a comment about your mom serving you a covered dish for lunch, but since she seemed to want you to be friends, maybe that’s in poor taste. Then again, maybe you didn’t have lunch because Katy was poor taste! ok ok, sorry, cant help myself!)
Humpf. We think she might have been taking Binga lessons. Serious ‘tude!
Oh, Summer, aren’t you a nice innocent girl. The way we cats interact with critters is through our digestive system!
Katy is luck she didn’t visit our house – between the 8 cats she would have been eaten!
Well! Certainly not friendly.
Not helping interspecies friendship.
At least you tried Summer.
Purrs Georgia,Julie and JJ
What?? Written??!?!?!?!
CRITTER!!!!!
Wow what a er… creepy written she is!!
I have to say though, we would be more inclined to eat them…….
She obviously didn’t know how to speak cat-language…….
