That’s right, Hairball Awareness Day is coming up and my pal Romeo has given 25 blogosphere cats, including me, an important assignment!
No, we do not have to hack up a hairball (although I did that earlier this week anyhow). We have all been given new FURminators with which to create fur-creatures out of NON-hacked up hair — undercoat that was FURminated out instead of ingested. All the fur-creatures will be posted on the PeoplePets website, and one winner will get $500 donated to their favorite cause!
I want to give all my competition a fair chance, so Boodie will not be participating this year. You have seen the monster piles of fur that she generates, and I thought the sheer volume would overwhelm everyone else.
So we asked for a large cat tool, but not for longhair cats.
That’s right — Binga will be contributing the fur this time around! I wanted to make it as challenging as possible, so I picked the cat who is, out of the three of us, the most difficult to furminate. I am sure my human appreciates that. You won’t get to see the results until April 29, but I will keep you updated on the progress!
Uuurrgghh… we hate our Furminator. We try to hide it from Mommy, but she always finds it. Anyone wants to adopt our Fuminator from us???
I think it’s just WRONG that hacked-up fur doesn’t qualify. It’s the BEST KIND!
I cannot wait to see your fur-creature creation!
Oh wow what a challenge you are setting yourself, Sparkle! Have you decided what kind of monster you are going to create with all of Binga’s fur?

Since Binga is a monster to begin with, maybe a mini-Binga…
Wow! Binga is donating the fur?? This is a true challenge Sparkle, my sisfur Sienna is a tortie and we have ‘the devil’s own job’ FURminating her, (so Mum says) because of her outstanding Tortitude!! and she has a short coat!!
We have our own FURminator and I LOVE it, I get FURminted and I purr and purr and purrrrrrrr. Not the cheapest groomer on the block but it is THE VERY BEST for giving us purrfect fur!
We hardly give up fur even ta the Flea Comb! Not that we have ever HAD a flea, but its the best thing we have for loose fur.
Given that it is shaggy time around these parts I wonder if goats can be furminated?
I dunno – do goats have undercoats? ‘Cause that is what the FURminator is supposed to brush out. I know it works on the dog. Not that goats and dogs have any relationship to each other – everyone knows that goats are far superior to dogs.
Um, Miss Sparkle? Does Binga even allow your human to get near her with the Furminator? I mean, I know you enjoy torturing your human, but you do realize that if she loses too much blood, there may not be anyone around to feed you?
Good luck with that! I bet Gemini could have the BIGGEST fur creature but don’t know if it would win…
Furminators – Hmmmm, neither me or Kozmo has lots of hair but the Hairy Slobbery sisters is HAIRY. Sam sheds every Month! Mommy will have to see if they has a Furminator for dogs.
Good luck on the contest!

Oh yeah, there are dog FURminators! The dog here gets FURminated sometimes.
Sounds like fun. We can’t wait to see what happens.
That is such a clever idea, we can’t wait to see the creatures too!
Sounds like a cool contest Sparkle, good luck! Casper just loves the Furminator we won in your contest last year. Out of the four cats he likes to be brushed the most and always lies still for the Furminator, then rolls over so I can do the other side!!!
Cool! We have a furminator and we love it. We look forward to seeing the fur-creatures!
We only like the Zoom Groom – although we usually end up putting the bitey on it and giving it bunny kicks!!
luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
I HATE dat furminator thingy. M can’t get near me with dat thing. I will allow her to use a wire comb on me tho – gentlly please.
This is going to be exciting. I am also participating. I won’t produce as much fur as I used to, but I think this will be fun.
We’re participating too, Sparkles! We can’t wait to see all the “creatures!!”
I only have a normal comb and I hate it! The furminator is quite expensive here and my SS can’t afford it right now.
That sounds like such a good idea. We can’t wait to see the pictures of the hair animals. Most of us do not allow that furminator near us. Binga, we wish you good luck. Take care and have a great day.
That sounds very interesting! We have a Furminator but don’t use all that much. We are both huge fans of the Zoom Groom and ask #1 for endless sessions with that. Sei-Chan runs away at the first sign of any kind of brushing device…
