I don’t care what humans say about it being really cold in other parts of the world. I think it’s plenty cold here, and we cats do everything we can to keep warm. Binga likes to go straight to the source, which in our office means the floor heater. My human is always getting mad at her because she lies right on top of it. She is worried that 1) she will burn herself, and 2) she will get cat fur in the grating and cause a fire, or at the very least make a mess that will cost a lot to have cleaned. In fact, there were a couple balls of fur in this shot that my human removed with Photoshop. You’d think with all her worrying, she would have removed them in real life instead.
So my human says that instead of lying on top the heater, we cats should lay next to it, like this:
Since I am not one of those pidgin-speaking LOL cats (although I would like to eat a pigeon someday), I always welcome the opportunity to use my extensive vocabulary. And I have the perfect word for today, because I find my human’s efforts at regulating our heater behavior utterly ineffectual.
Lying in the sun streaming through the window makes the most sense to my cat.
Heh heh heh… too true my friend, in the time it takes the humans to photoshop out the mess, they could have done the cleaning three or four times over… silly humans.
My sisfur Angel lays on the heater vents but I lay on laps. Our mommy never thought of fur falling in a burning up – thanks for giving her that idea though.
Isabella
I lay right next to the heat blowing thingey all the time and mom is always saying I’m gonna burn up! Needless to say…I haven’t yet!
@Grace – Are you SURE Frankie LuLu Belle is actually a kitty? That would SO never happen here!
My Frankie LuLu Belle is a heat seeking kitty but she has learned that lying on the heat vent is a major no-no. She sits right next to it like a good girl and not on it.
Our Chevelle loves to lay on the heater vent too. And our human has been known to photoshop furballs out of our pics too!
Next to? Does she lay next to the blankets?
