I got to visit with college students at Cal State Los Angeles yesterday! I went there once before a few months ago. It was a very new experience for me then, and I had been a little nervous being outside on campus.
Since I have been to USC a couple of times recently, my human felt I would be more comfortable, but she wanted to make extra sure. So she brought some extra special treats — some tasty Fancy Feast real chicken tenders. She hoped it would help me forget any nervousness I might have. Combined with my USC experiences, it worked! I was very happy visiting with the students, and one who had seen me before mentioned how much calmer I was. I even did a couple of High fives, although not consistently… and I rolled over so people could rub my tummy. Some students handled my floofy toes, and I was fine with that. A good therapy cat can be handled in many different ways, and is okay with them all. Oh, and everyone liked my tie!
The Cal State L.A. humans who put the therapy pet events together are very nice. They give the volunteers a gift bag with goodies like calming lotion (for humans), lip balm and sunscreen. My human and I do the therapy work because we like it, and that’s enough of a return for us. Gifts are a bonus and we appreciate them lots!
Then, of course, look who showed up! She was getting in the way so my human took her downstairs and put her in a room with her leftover lunch. She took her time, totally forgetting that she had left my bag of freeze dried chicken treats upstairs. When she remembered, she rushed back up to the living room, although she was pretty sure I couldn’t have possibly done that much damage.
I guess “that much damage” is relative. I didn’t get to eat many treats, but I did kind of make sort of a mess.
Was I sorry?
Yes! I was sorry I got caught.
That Chicken clean up just shows how smart you are:)
Nice swag from your therapy visit!
We are glad you and your human had such a great therapy visit at Cal State LA, Summer. And that’s not naughty at all. Opportunistic, maybe. 😉
HAHA you showed her! That’ll teach her for forgetting about the treats. Concats on doing such a wonderful job at the campus. You make so many people happy.
Whoa! I can’t get out off if you’re wearing the evidence!
MOL! You scored, Summer!!!
Good for you, Summer! You earned the extras 🙂
Are you sure Binga didn’t tear into them 1st? MOL…Great gifts! You have the cutest facial expressions. Next time place the evidence closest to Binga. Purrs
Glad you had an extra snack!
MOL I love it when my brother Oliver and I break into the pantry and the female human gives us a lecture and attempts to make us feel guilty. We’re with you, the only thing we are guilty about is getting caught! If they don’t want us to break into the pantry and open the kitty treats, they shouldn’t keep them on the lower shelf!

Summer how fun to be in campus. Glad to hear things went well there.
We totally love the last picture of you.
Good for you sweetie. he he – you can’t be perfectly behaved 100% of the time. You are letting your human know that you are human/errrr cat, and cats can help themselves to something they like. We love it. Oh, M says she hopes you don’t get a tummy ache from eating all those treats tho.
MOL! Summer, kudos for making the Cal State students feel calmer but we think you being naughty is priceless!
Summer, you just couldn’t resist those treats and who can blame you. They were just sitting there asking to be eaten. Glad you were a hit.
wow i’m impressed. i don’t think any of the boyz would enjoy strangers touching their toes.
Good girl, Summer. I am the queen of opening packages of food. Hey, if the humans make us wait too long, we have to take matters into our own paws. Love, Lexy
And Binga for the assist! I know she usually gets in the way, but you can’t deny she totally helped you out here, Summer. Maybe you let her lick the crumbs off your nose?
MOL! Your last photo, Summer, tells the whole story!
I love that last photo – Happiness is…
Yep that bag needed a little nip and a treat or two.
I’m glad you enjoyed your visit. Loved your secret messages and of course the tongue
Hugs madi your bfff
We are glad you were more relaxed for the students and that they enjoyed interacting with you, Summer!
Good for you for helping yourself to the treats! We’re sorry you were caught too ;p
the critters in the cottage xo
babe…you gotta learn to hide the evidence!
Love your tie shot Lady Summer!!!
Too adorable!!! you aren’t a naughty kitty at all!
Very cute pictures!
I hope that I get another chance to pet you at a cat show!
Good for you scoring some treats all by yourself. That is nice that they give gift bags to volunteers, but they should include treats.
I know they had to.be excited that you were back on campus again pretty Summer!
Ha! That last picture is just perfect 🙂
Summer, you are a kitty about town and very well known!
Ha..Ha..Ha… Never thought you will got caught !

We agree with you, Summer! We also love freeze-dried chicken treats and have been known to hijack bags of it when the opportunity arises, and do a little sampling… Nothing to be sorry about there!
