Giveaway Winner and Play Tips!

August 27, 2012 By: Sparkle Cat36 Comments

Her last name is Buttinski

It’s time to announce the winner of the PetFusion Cat Scratcher Lounge! I’ve decided to let Binga do the announcing because — mainly because she invited herself! It is:

Sue B.!

Concatulations, Sue! I really wish I had one to give everyone who entered. If you still want to buy one, you can get it on Amazon, and it is discounted!

Now I have a bonus for you — I am going to give you play tips to pass along to your humans! You don’t need a Cat Scratcher Lounge to do them — it is all about mental attitude! The biggest mistake humans make is that they do not understand how to think like prey. For example, see below — I am watching my prey very closely. I may be here for a while, not moving! My prey is going to stay there and not move too until it thinks it is safe — then it is going to try to get away! But of course it will not escape my deadly claws. The wrong thing for a human to do is get bored and move it too soon! Prey has lots of patience because it does not want to get killed.

Yes, it did get killed eventually.

Prey is also very sneaky! This feather wand prey is trying to peek at me from within the Cat Scratcher Lounger. The moment it knows it has been seen, it is going to dash back inside because it does not want to get caught! If I am lucky, I will be faster and kill it.

It had better be quick if it does not want to be killed!

Here is the opposite way — I am inside the Cat Scratcher Lounge, waiting for the unsuspecting prey to come by — and I caught it! Sometimes prey is pretty dumb.

Both ways are fun!

But you do not need a fancy lounger to play these games! You can do the very same thing with a $2.99 Cat Dancer and a brown paper shopping bag!

The Cat Dancer is very killable!

Can you see that the Cat Dancer was being extra sneaky here? It tried peeping out at me from under the bag! Don’t worry, I was too smart for it. It died a violent death.

I pretended not to see it to throw it off.

We kitties use lots of imagination when we play, and humans need to follow our lead!

Some links are affiliate links and I get a commission if you buy from the shops! Yay!

The problem with our “prey” is that it wears out before we do.

Great play tips Sparkle!!! I think sometimes I might move the prey too fast, I’ll try to slow things down in future 🙂

You know what, Sparkle? The Human saw on another blog–we forgets which one right now–maybe it was even yours and I will feel sooooooo stupid if it was!–that somekitty’s human had cut little windows in the paper bag and made even more places for the prey to sneak into!

That’s excellent advice, Sparkle. Glogirly and Gloman think that they can multi-task while I’m stalking my prey. I’m onto them.

Good luck in tomorrow’s debate! Tell Binga to set the alarm. Wouldn’t want you to oversleep. heh heh…

Very good advice, as usual, Sparkle! Yes, I don’t think it is the prey that is dumb or impatient — it is the hoomans.

Nice play tips. TW never keeps her hand or the toy in place long enough for me to catch it. She sez because she’s old her legs fall asleep. Pfftttt! I caught some real prey last week! Sparkle, if that Cat Scratcher Lounge would’ve been mine, I might have jumped campaigns. HAH!

Congratulations to the lucky winner. The publicist says the problem here is the Farm cats have REAL prey and they bring it to her. Sometimes dead, sometimes not.
