Here’s my completed set up for the Pet Expo this weekend! Isn’t it nice? I had some temporary animal tattoos for kids, and my human picked up some TICA coloring books. Plus my breeder got me some more selfie props!
The cool thing is they are all summer themed… and included this one! The kids really did use them to pose with me… and one parent even posted the photos on Instagram before the day was over.
My human didn’t let me work too hard, and made sure I got lots of rest. Friday is the “slow” day for the three-day Pet Expo. It was still plenty busy, but Saturday and Sunday are going to be way busier! I got to play some in the hotel room later to burn off any excess energy.
During my rest time, my human wandered around the expo a bit. She saw these adorable “Purrmaids” at one booth. She was thinking of getting one for a giveaway on my blog… but they were just too expensive. And the vendor was small enough that she didn’t feel right trying to get one for free. She knows how tiny a profit margin small businesses have… because she’s a small business too.
Outside of the cat show hall, she found something that got her really excited: a mobile cat cafe! The Moon Cat Cafe travels to events all over Los Angeles and Orange County, and works with different rescues in our area. It has space for about three adoptable kitties at a time (although the owner, Janet, said once they had five kittens, which was pretty wild). Plus there is a small gift shop and snacks. When my human stopped by, there were people inside having fun with the kitties. My human loves the idea of a mobile cat cafe, and wants everybody to know about it!
Oh! And guess who’s at the cat show this weekend in competition?
My nephew, Crazy Louie! My human went to see him in several rings.
Louie’s human isn’t at the show. My — and his — breeder is “agenting” him, which means she picked him up and is showing him for his human. My breeder loves Louie and I think she is having fun showing him.
And Louie loves being at shows. He knows all the judges by now, and is happy to visit with them. He considers them all his pals.
It is a very competitive show for him! Just about every judge has given Louie a Best Alter at one point or another… but they have also given many of the other cats he’s competing against Best Alter too! It’s a show full of winners, which makes it hard to stand out. Even so, Louie started off the show by earning several finals the first day, including a Best!
Oh — and he’s still crazy!
