I will be honest, I’m a little conflicted about this product, and giveaway. Because I think all us kitties should be able to eat each other’s food… and the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder was created to prevent just that! Not only is it an automatic pet feeder, it can read your pet’s microchip and keep everyone else out.
Disclosure: we were given the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder to review and promote.
The problem we have here is that Binga eats much slower than she used to when she was younger. For quite a while now, my human has been feeding her in a kennel to keep out me and Boodie. It has never been a satisfactory solution because Binga rarely finishes all her food, and somebody has to be around when she wants to go back and graze some more. That makes it hard when we have a pet sitter who only shows up a couple times a day. Or when the humans are going somewhere all day.
When someone from Sure Petcare offered to let us have one of their Microchip Pet Feeders for Binga to review, my human jumped at it. They even offered to give us an extra colored bowl and mat (it comes standard with a gray bowl and mat). Of course my human chose pink.
So how did it work? See for yourself in the quick, 1:12 video below:

It was easy to coax Binga over with some treats so that the feeder could read her microchip. In fact, the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder has a memory that can record 32 different identities. It also comes with a SureFlap RFID collar tag, if your pet doesn’t have a readable microchip.
Other features of the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder:
- The reader is compatible with microchips worldwide
- The feeder works for wet food, dry food… or both (a bowl with a divider is included).
- The bowl capacity is 400 ml (approximately two pouches of wet food).
- Because it is sealed, the food stays fresher longer.
- Great for weight management, prescription diets, and slow eaters like Binga.
- Four C batteries (not included) will run the feeder for 6-months.

To be honest, the SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder is not totally infallible. Boodie and I can sneak around the other side of the feeder while Binga is eating and still steal some food. But we can’t take full advantage because the moment she walks away, it shuts. And if the feeder is set in a corner, that makes it harder for us to sneak around Binga. (And in case you are wondering, yes, she growls when we try to take her food. Not that it stops us!)
Binga is enjoying her Microchip Pet Feeder. Me? Um, not so much! But I do have great news for those of you with a cat that needs to be fed separately from the others. The Sure Petcare people said I could have a giveaway — and it’s worldwide! So all my readers can enter, as long as it’s permissible in your country, state or province. All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog post, and say you did on the Rafflecopter widget! Once you’ve done that, you’ll have more options to earn more entry points, and a better chance to win. The giveaway goes until Midnight Pacific Time on Monday, October 8. Good luck!
Sounds great! Would love to try it.
Poor Ginger often has her dinner stolen by Rufus. This will teach him!
Would love this. Several of the foster cats are overweight even though I don’t allow free feeding anymore.
This would be great for my one dog who is a grazer.
This is amazing!
My daughter sure could use this for her (2) cats. Thank you for the giveaway!
I did.
I like this pet feeder
This would be great for my cats! Thank you for this chance!
I have a cat who has recently taken to helping herself to my kitten’s wet food. This would be a great help!
THis would be great!
What a great giveaway!
This is such a brilliant idea.x
This would be great so my foster kittens don’t eat my cat’s food!
This would be great because our elder ladycat is a slower eater and the kitten will just hoover up anything he sees.
This would be perfect for my torrid girl that steals everyone else’s food! Thank you for all the awesome giveaways you do Summer!
You did!
I’d love it, my Princess is a big bully and pushes my sweet little Rosie from her food. I’ll do the Rafflecopter widget too, paws crossed
I need this in my life!
I have one cat that eats so much slower than the others. If the others run her off then they will not be able to get her food! Thanks for the chance to win! Your review was cute.
I have a multi-cat household and I am sure this feeder would get used.
This would be great for my furbabies who are always going after each other’s food!
This would be pawesome to keep the woofie from stealing cat food!
My Smudge so needs this she steals every ones food. This product may also help with dogs that eat every thing!! Love these newsletters, so cute!!hank you Summer!! And Binga too!!
We do have grazers here who might do well being able to snack.
This is great for multiple cat families with different diet needs. Django is a kitten, Bodacious is the senior kitty (the Somali) but needs higher calories, Zoee is overweight. This would be perfect!
Love you guys!!!
This would come in handy at our place. Moxie, our tortie, is a grazer like Binga and Shadowbug eats everything that holds still long enough for her to get at it!
My kitties would love that but only two of my cats are microchipped out of 3 cats. I want to feed one of my cats a higher calorie food since shes skinny, but I one of the other cats is a food hog and quite large already
That is so cool! My girls are pretty good about sharing. Hannah has to be on special food but I just feed it to Daisy as well, always seemed too difficult to separate, but this would fix it! Thanks for the chance to win and the information Summer!
